One of the hardest things to explain about breeding is that even when you do everything right, there are still no guarantees with living animals. We health test extensively — including echocardiograms, DNA testing, and careful pedigree research — because we truly care about producing the healthiest Maine C***s possible. Those things greatly reduce risk, but they cannot completely eliminate it.

Maine C***s are a purebred breed, which means they come from a smaller gene pool than mixed breed cats. Because of that, certain health concerns can still appear despite generations of careful breeding and healthy lines. Some conditions are inherited in ways we still don’t fully understand, some can develop later in life, and some are simply unpredictable.

That doesn’t mean ethical breeders stop trying — it means we continue doing everything we can to improve the breed while also being honest and transparent about the reality that no cat is ever guaranteed to be perfect. We love these cats deeply, celebrate the healthy thriving ones, and carry the heartbreak when things don’t go as hoped.

Health testing matters immensely, but it is one piece of responsible breeding — not a magic shield against every possible issue life can bring.

Update 5/18/26- Trixie has found her forever home!! Thank you for all who reached out. We do still have another adult named Bluey looking for her forever home!! 😊

After a lot of consideration, we have decided to begin searching for the perfect home for one of our beautiful adult girls Trixie. She came to us from Russia and has been such a sweet, loving part of our home. Unfortunately, despite our efforts, she has not been able to successfully become a mother, so we feel the best thing for her is a quiet, loving forever family where she can simply be spoiled and cherished.

She is 1.5 years old, incredibly affectionate, gentle, and loves being close to her people. She can be a little sensitive to stress and change, so we will be very particular about where she goes. We are looking for a calm, stable home that understands the Maine C**n personality and will give her the patience and love she deserves.

She will be scheduled for her spay and available to go to her new home after she makes a good recovery. Likely in 6-8 weeks.

This is not a first come, first served situation — finding the right fit for her is our priority. She is still young and has lots of life ahead of her. Please message us if you feel you may be the perfect match for this special girl. ❤️

Who did the grumpy Maine C**n face better?! 🤣🤣

Bluey, our Solid Blue, Standard Paw girl, came to us last year from Russia. She has the loudest of motor purrs when you rub her belly. She has always been the picture of health and her tests have shown the same. She’s produced beautiful babies but unfortunately her time as a producing momma was cut short due to an unfortunate uterine infection post delivery. We love to provide these beautiful cats, but we put health and wellness of our kitties as the number one priority.

She will be available for rehoming in the coming months, perfect for someone looking for a retired Maine C**n. ♥️She’s been fully vetted and is such a wonderful cat.

These kittens are not available for reservations just yet. We have a paid waitlist that will get the first choice when the time comes for kitten selection and all other approved kitten applications will follow. We recommend filling out an application if you’re interest in one of our kittens.

Now the kittens know I’m their food, they swarm and fight over the bottle. My sweet daughter is always eager to jump in and help. 🥰

We giggle at their funny antics and oooo and aweee over them when they get so excited to drink, they lose control of themselves. 🤣

These kittens are so loved and will be extra loving!!
