A day for rescues!

On National Rescue Dog Day, we honor every rescue dog who has found a loving home, every foster who opened their heart, every volunteer who stepped up, and every adopter who chose compassion.

Rescue dogs come with stories. Some are funny, some are heartbreaking, and some are still being written. But one thing remains true: when you rescue a dog, you change two lives — theirs and your own.

Thank you to everyone helping homeless pets through adoption, fostering, volunteering, donating, advocating, and simply spreading kindness.

CRHS dogs could really use a kind person like you 🐶

Kennel life is tough, some dogs just need a chance to breathe.

Unlike foster-based rescues, many of our dogs spend their days in the shelter while they wait for a home. Even a short break in a foster home can completely change a dog’s outlook, helping them relax, build confidence, and simply be a dog again.

Fostering gives them comfort, stability, and a chance to shine outside the kennel. Whether it’s for a weekend, a few weeks, or longer, opening your home creates space for healing, hope, and second chances.

Great Dane Lovers!!

Reintroducing Mocha 💜
A soft, soulful girl looking for her person (or family)

Mocha is 7 years old with the gentlest heart and the kind of presence that just melts into you. She absolutely adores people. Whether you’ve known her forever or just met her, she’ll greet you with quiet trust and affection. She is deeply loving, calm, and happiest when she’s close to her humans.

This sweet girl has been through more than her fair share. She was found wandering the streets and has since had surgery to remove benign tumors. And yet… she remains one of the most tender, easygoing souls you’ll meet.

Right now, Mocha is living in our Sanctuary. She is safe and cared for; but it’s not a home. And what she truly deserves is a couch, a routine, and people to call her own.

✨ We are looking for a Permanent Foster (or adoptive home) for Mocha. ✨

This means Mocha lives with you as your dog, while the rescue covers her special food and medications for life.

She does have some medical needs (a strict low-fat diet + multiple small meals daily), so she’ll need someone home most of the day and a calm, consistent environment.

She’s not asking for much… just a quiet place, a soft spot to land, and someone to love.

We know her person is out there. We just need to find them.

Sam is looking for his perfect 🏠

ADOPTED!

Sam is urgently looking for a foster or adoptive home where he can finally relax and feel safe outside of the shelter environment. Shelter life has been very stressful for him, and he’s having a hard time showing his true personality while in the kennel setting.

Sam would do best as the only dog in the home for now, giving him the chance to decompress, build confidence, and simply learn how to be a carefree puppy again. With patience, structure, and positive reinforcement, Sam has so much potential to thrive in a calmer home environment.

He’s looking for someone willing to give him guidance with basic training skills, consistency, and lots of encouragement as he adjusts. A little time and understanding could make a huge difference in helping Sam become the happy companion he’s meant to be.
