Opening the Barn Doors Wider

Not every family in the community can afford the cost of regular lessons, and Beth and Kris are determined to make sure that doesn’t close the door for a child who needs the chance. That’s why they are working hard to create scholarship opportunities, so that any child with the passion to learn can find a place in the barn, no matter their circumstances.

For older kids and teens, they’ve also built a working student program. This special path allows students to trade their time and effort for lessons. They help with chores, care for the horses, and learn responsibility in the barn—gaining not only riding instruction, but also the deeper lessons of discipline, teamwork, and service. For many, this program becomes a stepping stone, turning hard work into opportunity.

Through scholarships and working student opportunities, Beth and Kris are making sure Corner Stone Farm is more than a lesson barn. It is a place where every child—whether or not they can afford the price of lessons—has the chance to belong, to learn, and to shine.

Venus, Ryan’s Steady Friend

There was a time at Corner Stone Farm when Ryan needed a horse of his very own. His sisters had their partners, and the English horses were fast, sharp, and busy with lessons. But Ryan had a different rhythm. He liked to move slow, steady, and thoughtful. He needed a horse who would understand him and match his patient style.

That’s when Venus came into their lives. She had once been the first horse of a kind girl named Vida. Vida loved Venus deeply, but as life changed, she had to make the hard choice to say goodbye. It wasn’t easy for her to let go of her very first horse, but she wanted Venus to have a boy or girl who would love her just as much as she did.

When Venus arrived at the farm, something special happened. She didn’t seem to mind that Ryan wasn’t the loudest or the fastest. Instead, she seemed to appreciate his quiet presence. While other horses might have rushed forward, Ryan’s calm hands and gentle heart helped Venus settle right beside him.

Together, they found their pace. While his sisters worked on jumping and English riding, Ryan and Venus rode western. They moseyed down trails, practiced smooth stops, and took time to enjoy the ride. Venus became Ryan’s friend, his partner, and the horse who gave him confidence in the saddle.

Venus wasn’t just any horse—she was the horse who showed Ryan that being steady, patient, and true could build the strongest kind of friendship. And though she once belonged to Vida, at Corner Stone Farm she became part of Ryan’s story, too.

The Magic of Corner Stone Farm

When the sun first peeks over the hills, Corner Stone Farm begins to glow. The barn roof catches fire in golden light, and the horses lift their heads to greet the morning. Their breath swirls like mist, dancing with the pink and orange sky. Birds chatter from the fence posts, and the grass sparkles with dew as if each blade has been dusted with diamonds. Morning at the farm feels like a promise—fresh, hopeful, and alive.

By evening, the magic changes. As the sun drifts low, the fields stretch out in a soft blanket of amber and rose. The horses graze quietly, their coats shining like bronze in the fading light. The air cools, carrying the sweet smell of grass and earth. Shadows grow long across the pasture, and the sky paints one last masterpiece before night. It’s in these sunsets that Corner Stone Farm whispers its secrets—the quiet strength of the land, the love it holds for every person and animal who calls it home.

And in between sunrise and sunset, when spring fills the air, the farm is alive with a special kind of beauty. The grass grows tall and green, soft underfoot and alive with the hum of bees. Flowers peek along the fence line, and foals kick up their heels in playful joy. On days like these, it feels as if the whole farm is smiling, reminding everyone who visits that magic isn’t only in stories—it’s right here, waiting in the grass, the sky, and the hearts of those who believe.

“When the Magic Settles In”

Beth stood by the fence, her hands dusted with flour from the morning’s batch of cookies, a soft breeze brushing loose strands of hair across her cheek. The sound of hoofbeats mingled with laughter on the breeze — that unmistakable soundtrack of a Corner Stone summer day.

It was always like this on the second day of camp. The first day was full of nerves — backpacks clutched tight, eyes wide, glances stolen between campers and horses, between campers and counselors. But by the second day, something started to settle in.

Magic.

She watched a little girl named Kaylie, no older than seven, standing in awe beside Mira. Her hand was outstretched, hesitant but brave, as Mira lowered her nose to sniff. Beth could see the moment unfold before it even happened — the wide-eyed stillness, the tentative giggle, the sudden sense of wonder that came when a thousand-pound horse chose you as safe.

It never got old.

Beth saw Emilie at the far end of the arena, showing a group of middle schoolers how to lead their horses with confidence, not control. Brice was skipping — no, bounding — across the gravel with a cookie tin in hand, calling out titles like “Director of Horse Cookies” like it was an official job (because at Corner Stone, it was).

The barn, freshly whitewashed, stood proud in the sun.

Beth leaned against the gate and let it all wash over her.

This was why she built this place with Kris.

Not just for the horses. Not just for the work. But for this — the moment when a camper who arrived with nerves and doubts walked a little taller, smiled a little bigger, and started to believe they belonged.

The horses taught it best — that you don’t have to be loud to be powerful. That gentleness can be leadership. That trust is earned, not demanded.

Beth took a slow breath and whispered, “Welcome home,” even though the campers couldn’t hear it.

Somewhere deep in the rhythm of the farm — in the nickering horses, the cookie crumbs, the laughter and courage blooming quietly in the dust — the farm whispered it back.

Thank You for an Incredible Summer at Corner Stone Farm!

To all of our amazing parents and campers,

From all of us at Corner Stone Farm, thank you for making this summer one to remember! We loved every moment spent with your children—watching them grow in confidence, build friendships, and form meaningful connections with the horses and each other. Whether they were brushing ponies, mastering a new skill, or just sharing laughter in the barn, they brought life and joy to the farm each day.

We are so grateful you chose to spend part of your summer with us, and we hope these memories last a lifetime.

As we shift into the school year, we want to gently remind families that our After School Program and weekday homeschool lessons are now enrolling. These smaller group sessions offer a great way for students to continue their learning, growth, and horsemanship through the fall and winter months.

If you have any questions or would like to reserve a spot, feel free to reach out—we’d love to see familiar faces back at the barn.

With heartfelt thanks,
The Corner Stone Farm Family

🌾 About Us – Corner Stone Farm 🌾

Where Horses Teach, Families Grow, and Stories Begin

Nestled in the heart of Omak, Washington, Corner Stone Farm is more than just a place—it’s a feeling. A quiet kind of magic lives here, where muddy boots are welcome, the barn is painted white with purpose, and horses help us raise kind, capable kids.

Founded by Beth and Kris Siemon, Corner Stone Farm grew from a dream into a family-run farm filled with laughter, life lessons, and love. Beth is a lifelong equestrian and FEI dressage trainer with a heart for teaching riders of all ages and abilities. Kris is the steadfast fixer, the quiet protector, and the man you call when the tractor won’t start or the hayfield needs saving. Together, with their children Emilie, Ryan, and Brice, they built a place where every camper, rider, and visitor becomes part of the farm’s story.

We believe horses have the power to teach confidence, courage, compassion, and connection. Whether you’re mucking stalls, winning ribbons, or just learning to lead a pony for the first time, you’ll find that Corner Stone Farm is a barn kind of family—a place where everyone belongs.

From horse camps and dressage lessons to muddy adventures and storybook moments, Corner Stone Farm is a working farm, a learning center, and a haven for hearts young and old.

Come visit. Stay awhile. Write your own story with us.

Through patience, partnership, and purposeful progress, every lesson becomes a step toward becoming the rider—and person—you are meant to be.

What a great Success June’s camp was! We got to implement our new camp curriculum! The kids loved our little stories that help teach important lessons! We got amazing feedback from our parents as well!

"My daughter isn't into sports much, so I thought I'd put her in the horse camp at cornerstone farms hoping that would be something she would enjoy and she absolutely loved it! She's ready to continue doing horse riding lessons soon. We will definitely be back"

June’s summer camp is underway and we couldn’t be having a funner time!
