June is and we want to kick things off with a quick update on the next generation of cat adopters: Our first Rescue Rangers cohort!

We are blown away by how this program has taken off and Session 3 is happening TONIGHT! Here's a look at where our Rangers have been so far:

🐈‍⬛ Session 1 kicked everything off with a bang. Our Rangers dove headfirst into the world of cat rescue — learning what it really takes to save a life, why spay/neuter matters, and how shelters, fosters, and communities all work together.

🐈‍⬛ Session 2 took things off-site! Our Rangers visited The Completely Cat Clinic for a behind-the-scenes look at feline veterinary medicine. They explored the x-ray suite, hunted for parasites under microscopes, and watched a full exam from start to finish, including finding a cat's heartbeat. 🩺 Watching these kids start to see themselves as part of the bigger picture of cat care? That's exactly why we built this program. And Jorts did such an amazing job being our live demo cat.

🐈‍⬛ And tonight? Session 3. 🎉 We can't wait to share what's next.

Rescue Rangers is a six-month, once-a-month program where kids don't just learn about cats — they become advocates for them. Every session earns a badge. Every graduate leaves with a community advocacy project to put into practice in their own neighborhood. The future of animal welfare in Omaha is in such good hands. 🧡

This orange powerhouse has energy for days and zero interest in slowing down. Wand toy? Yes. Crinkle ball? Absolutely. Imaginary speck on the wall? Don’t worry - he’s on it. If you’ve been looking for a high-energy sidekick (or you have a playful resident cat who needs a worthy opponent), Franklin is ready to clock in.
