Delicious peppers and so much more! Just put out a few dozen eggs! Cucumbers, zucchini, tomatoes, lettuce, microgreens, winter squash, pumpkins, gourds, firewood, and zinnias also available. A little bit of sweet corn left.

As I approached the baby goats with feed this morning I once again discovered that the allure of the grass on the other side of the fence was again too tempting to resist. Although not actually greener, they daily decide to stick their heads through the tight squares of the fence to give it a nibble only to discover, once again and for the 1000 time, that they can't pull their heads back through. Alas, they stand defeated by the temptation of something better.

I used to try to see this as a metaphor for my own human pursuits of greener opportunities.....like the time I impulsively thought buying goats off of Craigslist was a good idea and an enriching addition to our lives and farm.

As I approached today and found 2 out of the 3 stuck I commented to the only smart one about how stupid the other 2 are.....at which point he tipped his head curiously, made eye contact as if he understood and agreed....then took a step forward and promptly shoved his head through the fence....at which point I gave up the metaphoric reflection on this regular routine and saw things more literally.... Among the four of us standing here yet again, who really is the most stupid?

Lots of pumpkins available for porch decorating and carving. Small pumpkins make great teacher gifts or desk and table decorations. Lettuce, microgreens, horseradish, peppers, tomatoes, zucchini, yellow squash, winter squash, and sweet corn available. Sweet corn husks are dry but I checked a few ears and the corn still looks good. Ready to burn firewood available for your weekend fire pits. Picked cherry tomatoes and will bag them up soon.
