The AAZK Omaha Chapter is once again hosting their calendar cover photo contest! The deets:

✔️ Must be recent photos from our Zoo or Lee G. Simmons Wildlife Safari Park.

✔️ Email your entries to [email protected] along with your preferred name and address.

✔️ For the best chance at winning the cover spot, go landscape, full color and easy on the editing, but preferably no editing at all.

Today’s the big day for Lee G. Simmons Aviary (and our other birds throughout the Zoo)! It’s reopening after being closed since March 3, 2022, due to concerns regarding the Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza virus. The birds at Lee G. Simmons Wildlife Safari Park in Ashland, Nebraska, just off Exit 426, have also returned to their outdoor habitats.

We aren't able to fly our birds just yet (because Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza) but until then, some of our other friends, like Humphrey here, will be taking the stage!

Stop by the Dick and Mary Holland Meadowlark Theater at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. daily.

Demonstrations are weather-permitting and are free to Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium members or with paid Zoo admission.
