Doc just got his first two AKC titles- Canine Good Citizen and Trick Dog Novice!!! He was a little out of sorts today, so I wasn't sure. Then we went out for pizza and shopping for dog treats. Yay, Doc!!! ❤️

There are so many nuances that go into how research is performed and how it is interpreted. This is an interesting article.

I am so excited to announce that Ava's sister Raven (owned by Coplar Creek Standard Poodles) and Doc's sire Gideon (link below to his FB page) were bred this past week.

We drove Raven to MN for the breeding, and got to meet Gideon for the first time. He is so sweet and handsome! He is an AKC champion and UKC grand champion. He weighs about 45 pounds.

This is my mentor's litter, but I want to make sure everyone that was waiting for a puppy from us knows this is the last opportunity to have a puppy related to our dogs for at least two years. This write up below is just as true for any breed! ❤️ A dog is a responsibility. Their life is in your hands. If they do something "wrong", it is always your fault. I think this is the best way to look at canine behavior. I heard one time that the only thing you can't teach a dog is to stay out of the garbage, so put a lid on it. I try to live by this. To take it a step further, their genetics and health is a breeder's responsibility. If they develop an avoidable and inherited health condition, have bad joints, etc, that is the breeder's fault. I say this all the time.... If you don't pay for a health tested, well bred purebred dog up front, you will pay for it later in medical bills. Even worse, your dog will pay for it in pain, suffering, and a shorter life. There's so much to getting a healthy puppy and getting it off to a great start. A quality breeder is the place to start.

Because of trips and scheduling, Doc finished his first puppy class series today. He got his first little title as an AKC STAR puppy, but even better is that his trainer calls him "Mister Perfect" and says he'll get his first two real titles super easy during our next round ❤️

Just to be clear, no one here is trying to take this bone from him. He's usually very laid back but super sassy when he gets a bone, so he runs around growling in their faces while he holds it up for everyone to see....super proud of his bone 😂

Goose and Ava got an intro to barn hunting! You can see Ava's tell, where she raises her paw. Goose only goes to the one with the rat in it real casual like it's not a big deal. The instructor said he was the class mascot 😊

After a ton of research, this is my favorite dog food. The boys turn eight weeks this weekend, and one is going to his new home. His big sister was from our last litter, and we are thrilled to give her a new best buddy! Had help from my friends and mentors to evaluate their conformation yesterday, and we have decided to keep the bigger boy ❤️

I cannot stress how much goes in to responsibly breeding dogs, choosing mates, ensuring lines are researched, and getting appropriate health testing. It is so sad to read of the outlook of the Doberman, and most potential dogs owners don't know what questions to ask a potential breeder.
