Just a friendly reminder to all lesson clients about a few important program policies here at the barn. 🤍

As part of our lesson program, every student is required to complete a minimum of ONE lesson involving barn responsibilities such as cleaning stalls, feeding, and doing waters. Horsemanship is about much more than just riding — learning proper horse care teaches responsibility, work ethic, respect for the animals, and helps students become more knowledgeable and well-rounded equestrians. Understanding the daily care that goes into keeping horses happy and healthy is an important part of the learning experience.

Also, for the safety of all riders:• Helmets are MANDATORY for anyone under the age of 18.• Riders 18+ may choose whether or not to wear a helmet.• Proper riding attire is required for all lessons, including jeans, an appropriate shirt, and riding boots.

Every door closes so a new one can open. Bigger and better things are in store for Thundering Hooves! Starting tomorrow Monday April 13,2026 we will now be located at a phenomenal Ranch Versatility facility in OKC. So many new amenities including a walker and an INDOOR ARENA!! We will be back to being able to do lessons without being affected by the weather! So so so grateful to the owners for allowing me to move into their beautiful facility.

Mav started his second month with me and he is officially ready to ride! He had a good ten days or so off between needing to see the vet and then me testing positive for Salmonella and dying from food poisoning with 103.8 degree fever and my son getting a stomach bug shortly after. He enjoyed his time off but was happy to get back to it! So am I 🤣 i hate being cooped up indoors.

As we come to an end on Mavs first month here in my program, I wanted to give an update on how things are going!

Mav came to me to get restarted under saddle. He was originally broke to ride a few years ago but never was given a basic foundation to learn on. He didnt know things like flexing, backing or yielding.

His owner wanted him to have a basic foundation and to be restarted under saddle. The last 4 weeks he has learned how to flex, yield his hindquarters, back by the wiggle of a rope. He has worked on his sending exercises, lots of desensitizing, circle driving, stirrup driving etc.

We moved into more under saddle things yesterday and he handled it so nicely i decided to just go ahead and get on. 🥰 we just walked around the round pen for a short period of time in a halter but he did great. We still have alot of things to accomplish but we r on the right track.
