Delta Horsemanship: Be the change your horse needs

I am officially all settled into the new farm in Ohioville, Pennsylvania and am now accepting new clients for mobile horse training and horseback riding lessons with your own horse.

I specialize in horsemanship, including beginner riders, "problem" horses, and refinement of advanced horsemanship across a variety of disciplines. I also am a certified judge with Premier Mount N Trail, a competitive trail organization, and would love to help you build a strong partnership with your horse while competing in this outstanding organization.

Lessons and training are customized to the specific needs of you and your horse—whether you're looking for a one-time session, occasional guidance, or regular weekly lessons.

Rates:
$50/hour (1-hour minimum)
+$1/mile for clients located more than 10 miles away
(First 10 miles from my barn in Ohioville, PA are free)

As you may have seen, I (Kristin) made the decision to sell the Ohio farm that was home to Hollywood Acres. We closed last week and moving day is next month. With my move back home to Pennsylvania, I'm downsizing and will only have room for my personal horses. Therefore, I'll be transitioning to exclusively mobile training and lesson services, based out of western PA next month. Look for a business name change too here once I get myself and all my critters settled at our new farm.

Thank you to everyone who has supported Hollywood Acres over the last 8 years. I hope you are still enjoying your horses and the relationships we built together. I will always be happy to do free virtual consults for all my previous/existing clients if you need my help. And I'll be taking on new clients this spring. 🤠

The horses here have started shedding, spring will be here soon!

I'm now scheduling for training/lessons with your own horse. We can do a recurring lesson slot or schedule week by week, whichever you prefer. My rates are the same as last year: $50/hr plus $1/mile for me to travel to you.

Lulu is retiring from my lesson program this year so, at the moment, I cannot provide a horse for lessons. If I get enough interest in riding lessons, I will consider replacing her so please reach out if you would be interested in regular lessons with a lesson horse.

If you're new to my page, my focus is the fundamentals of horsemanship. This is great for beginners, those encountering difficulties, advanced riders looking to refine their skills, and people who simply want to be a better partner for their horse. I will meet you and your horse where you are and help you to achieve your goals, whether that's competing, trail riding, or simply enjoying your horse. I can also help with saddle fit and nuitrition and am happy to mentor in general. I have been blessed with knowledge from some amazing horsemen and would love to share that.

You're invited to our upcoming Ranch and Trail Fun show! This is a great opportunity if you've been wanting to introduce your horse (or yourself) to cattle work or obstacles in a safe, supportive, laid-back environment. We're happy to help anyone learn these events at this show. Free for Carroll County Ohio Horseman's Council members, but everyone's welcome. All proceeds go to CCOHC.

(Horses must have vet records and there is no smoking or va**ng allowed on the property.)

We had so much fun at our Halloween Fun Show that I'm considering hosting a ranch/trail fun show before the snow starts flying. Would there be any interest in this? We can teach you the events and give training pointers if you'd like. What date(s) would be ideal?

We're hosting the 2nd annual Carroll County OHC Halloween Fun Show!

We're introducing some live cattle classes with our yearling Herefords too, but these are our pets so any aggression from your horse (or you) towards them will result in immediate disqualification.

No smoking or va**ng anywhere on the property due to owner's allergies. No exceptions.

This is really laid-back, friendly environment: kid-friendly and young/green horses are welcome. Any class offered can be done in-hand or leadline.
