"ANY REPUTABLE BREEDER WILL..."
1)Never sell you a puppy that is less than eight weeks of age! Puppies absolutely need at least eight weeks of rearing by their canine mother before they are ready to be placed with human owners.
2) Require you to sign a contract of sale. This contract will explain in detail the terms of the sale and what is expected of you as the new owner.
3) Require you to have the puppy spayed or neutered before you can receive the registration papers and/ or you will only be given a limited registration , which prohibits subsequent puppies from being registered with the AKC...unless you plan to breed the dog, or if specific arrangements are made other wise.
4)Offer a health guarantee of some kind. Some breeders will guarantee the health of the dog for life; others may guarantee the dog for a certain numbers of years. These health guarantees normally cover any genetic problem that prevents the dog from living a normal ,healthy life.
5)Offer to be available through the life of your dog to answer any question you may have.
6)Offer to help you find a new home for your dog should you ever find yourself in a situation where you can no longer keep it.

"LIST OF QUESTIONS TO ASK THE BREEDER"
1) How many years have you bred dogs? This breed?
2) How many litters do you breed a year? (More is not better)
3)For which traits do you breed?
4)What faults do you see in your own dogs?
5)Can I see the dam?
6)Are the dam and sire x-rayed and certified free of hip dysplasia?
7)Are the parents free of any serious hereditary disorders?
8)What problem does this breed have? (Don't believe anyone who says "none")
9)What drawbacks does this breed have? (Ditto!)
10)Have you shown your dogs? Do they have titles?
11)Do you belong to breed specialty or all- breed clubs? (These can serve as breeder references)
12)Do you temperament test?
13)Can I see the pedigree and contract?
14)Can I see the medical history of the litter and parents?
15)Do you offer a guarantee?
16)What is the life expectancy of the breed?what's the oldest dog you've owned?
17)Are the parents on the premises? If not, why not? If yes,can I meet them?
18)What steps have you taken to properly socialize the puppies?
19)What are you feeding the puppies and why?
20)Do the puppies have all the shots?
21) Have the puppies been dewormed?
22)Do you require a signed contract of sale?

always do your research and buy with reputable breeders !!!!

LOOKING FOR A NEW HOME!!! Please share! This is the information about “Bruce” according to the owner. I’m sorry this is so long:
This giant puppy is Bruce and he's 85% goodboi and 15% stubborn thing. He needs a new home with clear routines and training. He still needs neutering. He's absolutely exceptional athletically and smart as a whip. He's a year and a half old, (2 on March 8th). He has German Shepherd, Husky, Pit Bull and Great Dane so he's long and lanky, super athletic, very smart and very eager to understand and willing to learn -anything- for treats, especially from a woman. He gets along with other dogs mostly, he gets the "zoomies" and tears around the house at top speed for a couple of minutes once or twice a day. He's goofy and loving, he needs an owner who can focus on his training and he's the type who'd be perfect for big, athletic, acrobatic tricks. I can absolutely see him excelling in competitions.

His issues: He has a couple learned behavior/emotional issues, he's been beaten and abused by men so he's afraid and agressive with men while clingy with women. He believes men to be dangerous enemies that he also has to love and respect. He growls and bares his teeth while licking my husbands face and wagging his tail. That would make anyone insane. He has bitten kids in the face because he can't always separate love and aggression, but he was also in a very crowded home with lots of kids and adults and other animals and was overwhelmed full-time.
He also has severe separation anxiety and is up against me at all times no matter what I'm doing, under my feet at every turn. He can't be left without a human because he gets hysterical, freaks out and trashes anything he can shake up with his teeth. It's all panic, I'm sure of it.
He's only 1.5 years old and naturally eager to learn and please so I'm certain it can be unlearned.

The biggest problem is that one of his four breeds is Pittie (also Great Dane, German Shepherd and Husky) and he has the big ol' Pittie head. He's been known to bite and I'm scared that if he bites and is turned in they'll put him down based too much on his looks.

He's got unbelievable potential, he's huge but springs around like Tigger and has impressive balance and would probably even excel in anything acrobatic. I'm half crippled at 46 and can be down for days at a time. He needs constant, consistent routines and training with mental/emotional rehabbing and has been given a good start with some basics. He tries SO hard to be a good boy and is incredibly happy to learn and do things for treats. He naturally tries to learn and understand me.
Somebody has got to save this boy soon because he's mentally and physically bored so is getting more and more ornery and wild and getting into things and I simply can't consistently keep up, plus it's really not safe for me to have him under my feet and crashing into me and my senior Lab/Rottie.
He will need someone who is willing to work with him on daily basis! Thank you 🙏🏼
