Equisan, Animal Massage Therapy

Equisan, Animal Massage Therapy Helping maximize the health and performance of animals since 1999. WHY MASSAGE FOR ANIMALS? Effleurage and petrissage are also used to a limited degree.
(1)

Massage therapy relieves muscle pain and assists in the prevention of future muscle injuries. Animals experience many of the same aches, pains, and physical conditions as people; receiving the same benefits from this type of therapy. OUR TECHNIQUE

The massage routine used by our therapist is an integration of sports massage strokes and the Tellington Method®. A signature stroke for the shoulders

that was designed in collaboration with a veterinary chiropractor is used in each session. Each animal receives a full body treatment. HOW THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE MAY HELP:

Performance and Working Animals

* relieving muscle pain and fatigue increases
willingness to work and play
* releasing muscle knots increases muscle efficiency
* keeping muscles supple allows greater range of
motion and helps prevent future injuries

Recovery From Surgery and Injury

* massage reduces inflammation and swelling, expels
toxins and releases natural painkillers
* promotes relaxation, which helps the body heal itself

Joint Problems and Senior Animals

* releases muscle knots formed while compensating
for joint pain
* reduces muscle stiffness from improper body
mechanics
* helps bring comfort to older, arthritic animals

Animal Massage in NOT a substitute for veterinary care.

I am watching the horse pulls at the Weber County Fair. I LOVE watching these horses. I love the way they are built and their sheer power. This is the light weight division. The horses combined weight is 3500 lbs. This pull was 9000 lbs. The winning team pulled 10, 000 lbs. for 26 feet! Man oh man would I love to work on them!!! One of the highlights of my career was working on the Budweiser Clydesdale, Fred, at their stable in St. Louis.

We have exciting news! We're having an open house with Speaking K9 ! It can be scary dropping your dog off somewhere new, so we wanted to give everyone an opportunity to really come see who we are and what we are about! Come meet the trainers, the kennel techs, the groomers and everyone in between! We will have vendors, a dog swap meet and of course, dogs are welcome!

Our Story

WHAT IS SPORTS MASSAGE? How a muscle injury occurs is the focus of sports massage. Therapy relieves muscle pain and assists in the prevention of future muscle injuries. Muscle knots are broken up by unique strokes that spread and separate the muscle between the therapist’s hand and the animal’s bone. HOW SPORTS MASSAGE MAY HELP: Performance and Working Animals * relieving muscle pain and fatigue increases willingness to work * releasing muscle knots increases muscle efficiency * keeping muscles supple allows greater range of motion and helps prevent future injuries Recovery From Surgery and Injury * massage reduces inflammation and swelling, expels toxins and releases natural painkillers * promotes relaxation, which helps the body heal itself Joint Problems * releases muscle knots formed while compensating for joint pain * reduces muscle stiffness from improper body mechanics Animal Sports Massage in NOT a substitute for veterinary care.
