Roman and Sasha are a bonded pair of senior Akitas, both 13 years old, who have spent their entire lives side by side. After everything they’ve known, the one thing they still need is each other — and they must be adopted together.
These two are calm, gentle, and deeply connected. Roman is steady and quiet; Sasha is soft and affectionate. They enjoy people, do well with respectful children, and thrive with adopters who understand and appreciate the Akita breed — their independence, loyalty, and quiet dignity. They are not a fit for homes with other animals, especially small pets, and will need to be the only animals in the home.
Roman and Sasha previously lived with a family but spent their lives outdoors in a small run. Because of this, they are not house- or crate-trained and will need patient, compassionate adopters willing to help them transition to indoor life at their own pace. After 13 years, everything about a home will be new — and a little scary — but they are trying.
Their adoption fee is $190 for the pair. Roman and Sasha are in their golden years. They don’t need much — just a calm home, knowledgeable humans, and the chance to spend the rest of their lives together in comfort, safety, and love. Stop by Brigham City Animal Shelter to meet them — they’re open Tuesday through Friday from 12–6 PM.
