Hope's Rescue

Hope's Rescue Hope's Rescue is dedicated to Hope, a little Chihuahua that was thrown into a firepit and later died from her injuries. Hope's legacy will live on.

We are a passionate group of volunteers who are dedicated in helping as many shelter and relinquished animals find forever homes as possible. Each one of our volunteers comes to our rescue with a wealth of knowledge and deep understanding of the problems that exist with the overflowing amount of animals in shelters that have no chance of making it out. We can not save ALL of them but we will save

as many as humanly possible. All of our animals will be in foster homes so that gives us the opportunity to see their behavior, training, special needs and anything else that needs to addressed before adopting out.

Our commitment to Sassy.

Never again will you live outside, in a cage with a cement floor.
Never again will you want for a good meal.
Never again will you struggle with pain from arthritis.

You will only know a soft bed to lay and rest your head.
You will have good food to nourish your body.
You will have meds to help with the pain, you suffer from.
And when it’s time to leave us, you will have someone with you, telling you how you are loved, until your very last breath.
I always say it takes a village to save a dog.
Thank you to Kelly, Kerri, Cory, Curt and Vickie .
We all made it possible.

Thank you so much, from the bottom of my heart!

Sassy is 13 years old and was left at a vet's office to be euthanized!
Because she had arthritis and she's OLD!

Thank you to Curt and Vickie Harris, for opening their hearts and their home to care for Sassy, for as long as she has.

We have lost 4 hospice dogs in 5 weeks, so in memory of our precious

Adopted!

Henry is a doll. This affectionate senior is house trained, leash trained, good with cats and other dogs. Loves people, attention, toys, food and scratches. He is blind in one eye but gets around like a puppy. He’s cute, quirky, and looking for a best friend human. He snuggles and loves to be close to his people.

Henry might be a senior ( maybe 8 to 10) but he's absolutely perfect
He had a serious foxtail embedded in his paw, so had that surgically removed. At that time, he had a dental.
So Henry is fully vetted and now waiting for his forever loving family !

Might want to mention, Henry hasn't missed many meals....he's a chunk!

Application can be submitted to meet Henry at https://hopesrescue.godaddysites.com
With an approved application someone will call you to meet this adorable boy !

We know our time is limited when we take seniors and hospice animals.
We try to enjoy every minute and gather as many memories with each precious soul.
Sometimes we think:
I hope they can enjoy one summer.
I pray they can play in snow and be here for Christmas.
We just hope and pray for more time.

We've had a very hard couple of months, losing so many.

Sadly, last week we lost little Snickers. How she was loved by her mama and will be so missed.

This is what her mama wrote and she put in to words her love for Snickers.

My precious little Snickers went to dreamland, where 16 year old doggies can run and play like pups, and this time decided she was ready to stay there. She and her sister are my hospice babies for Hope’s Rescue and I’m so grateful I got to be her mom this the past year and a half. She was the kindest, sweetest, and most gentle soul. Run fast and free on legs that dont hurt and with eyes that see, my sweet little angel. I love you. 💔🐾

Hope's has had a very hard few weeks.
We lost beautiful Benson, the boxer after only a few weeks.
Our sweet sugar cube crossed over from cancer, a couple of weeks ago.
On Thursday , our precious Lucy lost her battle with kidney failure and mega esophagus.

Hospice fostering can rip your heart out, but we also know they were loved until their very last breath.
Our hospice fosters are amazing people and we're so thankful we have them.

Hug your babies a little tighter.....

Yesterday, a light went out in my life.
My Lucy had put up an amazing fight, but it sadly came to an end.
She came to me 10 months ago, suffering from mega esophagus and stage 4 kidney failure.

She was never a foster dog, she was my girl from day one.
I bonded with Lucy and learned so much from her.
She taught me patience, to take each day at a time, to slow down and enjoy small moments.

3 times a day, I would feed Lucy from a raised feeder bowl and then we would sit in the living room ( in what I now call, Lucy's chair) she would sit in an upright position for 20 to 30 minutes beside me. Sometimes we watched tv, sometimes I would sing to her and sometimes we would sit in silence, with her head on my shoulder, thanking God she was still with me.

I will miss our special times together.
I will miss her incredible sweet behavior.
I will miss seeing her chase the dogs and loving everyone.
I will miss those beautiful, soulful eyes looking up at me.

There will never be another Lucy in my life and my heart is broken.

Look up tonight and when you see the brightest star........

That's My Lucy telling me she's at peace.

Last evening I did a post asking for help.
I mentioned that our Sugar cube would be crossing today.
We had a vet appointment this afternoon, but Sugar cube did it her way.
She went peacefully in in her foster daddy’s arms a couple of hours before she was to go.

A picture speaks a thousand words!

This is why we do what we do. This is why we continue to have our hearts broken.

They leave this world knowing they were so loved.

Thank you to Melissa Wilkes and Cory Wilkes for loving her!

She went at the home she loved, being held by those who loved her.

What more could we have hoped for?
Rest easy sweet girl…. We loved you.

Hospice fostering can break our hearts, but being with them as they take their final journey is so rewarding.....
They didn't die alone and the final words they hear, are from those who love them.

This is our passion and who we are.

I saw a saying and thought yes, many people do love them until they pass.
But when you have a hospice program, we are the ones who love them until the end.

We’ve had so much sadness lately with our seniors.
Many are failing and their time is limited.
Between vet visits, medication, tests and prescription food it’s about breaking hopes rescue.
As with all rescues our adoptions are slow, so many we can’t help because of lack of funds, no fosters and I think many are feeling defeated.

In the last 2 months we’ve spent 3,000 on vet bills, medications, euthanasia and cremations.

Our rescue can’t continue a hospice program without help.
As of now we are closed to any intake's for hospice/ seniors.
Our little Winston went to be neutered this morning and he was urinating blood.
Immediately he had an X-ray and is on medication for 10 days.
An ultrasound has been mentioned.
We have no idea what is going on.
His right side droops like Bell’s palsy.
We ruled out an ear issue.
Our sweet sugar cube will be crossing tomorrow which is heartbreaking.
So as you can see it’s just been a sh*tty
week!
We could really use your help or please share .
We appreciate all of you helping so many times, and I so wish we didn’t have to constantly ask for help!
Hug your babies a little closer tonight!
