It's been a few months now, and we think it's safe to say that Misty has found her forever home!

Back in May, we did a month of Misty and for a while, we feared that our nonstop Misty posting wouldn't help this girl find her home, but every share makes a difference, as was the case for this girl!

Bronwyn saw Misty's post after a friend shared her. She had just lost a beloved companion—another wonderful pup who had spent two years in the shelter before being adopted—and her and her remaining dog Lady Bug were greatly missing their friend. We like to think that fate played its part to ensure that Misty's post was shared by all the right people to make sure Bronwyn saw it. And Bronwyn's application was perfect for Misty. We couldn't have been more ecstatic, especially since Bronwyn had plenty of experience caring for pups with allergies and skin issues!

It was love at first meeting, and how could it not be when Misty greeted Bronwyn with her endless enthusiasm and love that she greets all friends with!

Needless to say, Misty is now living her greatest life ever in the most amazing home with all the love she's always deserved! And with Bronwyn at her side—and of course her favorite shark and duck toys—we know every day will be better than the last.

Congratulations Bronwyn, Lady Bug, and Misty! We are so happy for all of you ❤️

Meant to be? We sure think so!

When previous adopter Darin reached out to us in search for another pup to be a companion for him and OWAR alum Sir Isaac Newton, we had a few options for him. The moment he met Suletta (fka Roca) though, he knew she was the one for them! And after receiving Isaac's wholehearted approval for his new sister, it was official.

Suletta had a rough start early on in life, but it's nothing but happiness now. She finally has a human who gives her all the love she craves and an amazing big brother to snuggle up with!

Congratulations Darin, Isaac, and Suletta! ❤️

Chimmy (fka Chino) was ecstatic when he met his new family, and we knew from that moment that he had found his forever home.

From a homeless pup in Mexico covered with mange and suffering from distemper to an absolutely spoiled and loved ball of personality, we can happily say that Chimmy's life is nothing but sunshine from here on out! He has his own fancy tuxedo harness, plenty of toys to play with, two cat friends, a pawrent that loves him to pieces, and a human sister that he absolutely adores! It's safe to say that he hit the home jackpot.

Congratulations Marilyn, Alexandrea, and Chimmy! We couldn't be happier for you three ❤️

Everything is peachy keen for this little pup now because Peaches (fka Daisy) has officially found her forever home!

Jacky and Ed were the perfect match for this shy girl and now she has the patient, loving, and understanding home she needed to fully grow and ripen into the sweet little peach she was meant to be!

Back in August 2019, we had an amazing family visit our rescue and adopt an equally amazing dog. Unfortunately, we never know how long we'll get with our pups, and life sometimes takes them from us way too soon. Rudy, sadly, was one of those dogs and was only 5 years old when leukemia took him from the loving family he'd found.

In 2021, we adopted out a dog named Jakk, only to have him returned to us 10 months later. He struggled to find someone else interested in him, and when he did find another home, he only remained there a brief amount of time before finding himself back in our care once more. Jakk wasn't sure what he was doing wrong, and after returning to us again, he made it clear how upset he was with his heartbreaking howls.

The universe has a funny way of working though and just as Jakk returned to his life at the rescue for the second time, we received an email from Rudy's family telling us they were ready to welcome another dog into their lives and were interested in scheduling a meet and greet.

Much like when they adopted Rudy, there were two dogs they were interested in meeting, but the moment they met Jakk, they knew he was their next dog. And, well, the rest is history! The same wonderful family that adopted from us in 2019 has become our newest repeat adopters. And now all of Jakk's dreams have come true as he spends his days playing in the backyard with two human siblings that can keep up with his energy, helping his parents catch fish while out on the boat, and living life to the fullest!

Our month of Misty is almost over, and she STILL has not received a single inquiry or application, so today we aren't going to give you a cute and happy caption.

The truth is, Misty has been in the rescue system since October 28, 2021. Yes, you read that right. That's 516 days. Five hundred and sixteen. Now take into account that Misty is estimated to be only about 2 ½ - 3 years old. That means Misty has spent approximately half of her life, if not more, without a home of her own. On average, most dogs experience a 35 to 42-day stay in a shelter. Misty has been in a shelter/rescue for 12 to 14 times LONGER than the average dog.

Originally found as a stray in Pasco county, a rescue plea was sent out for her due to the horrible condition she was in. Our friends over at took her in and helped her reach the amazing health she is in now. Misty was in their care for nearly a year, and unfortunately, they struggled to get anyone interested in her. So on August 31, 2022, we welcomed Misty into our care, all of us hoping the change in location and a new audience would help find her the furever home she's been patiently waiting for. It's now 209 days later, and we are left wondering what it is about Misty that no one seems to want. We've taken her to every event we've done, where she couldn't wait to say hi to everyone who passed her. She loves children. She is adorable, photogenic, fun, goofy, and one of the sweetest souls around. She's potty trained. Crate trained. Never tries to destroy any of her beds or blankets. We could go on and on about how wonderful she is, so needless to say, we are baffled and absolutely disheartened over the lack of interest and how often people ghost us when we suggest her. While we all love Misty to pieces here, we want nothing more than for her to find her perfect home that she so desperately deserves. This girl deserves a family that will smile as large as she does every time she greets them. One that will look at her with the same level of love-filled eyes that she stares at her friends with.

And after 516 days, don't you think Misty deserves a home too?

It took some time, but we are happy to announce that Bones has found his *final* forever home! Placing this little guy in the right household was difficult, but in the end, it was worth it because he now has two parents that he chose just as much as they chose him! And now Bones gets to spend his days curled up on his favorite humans' laps, chasing lizards, going on walks, and being the absolute best version of himself!
