A dog's nose is incredibly powerful it's so sensitive that some specially trained dogs can even detect certain types of cancer and other medical conditions.
So remember: when meeting a dog for the first time, there's no need to rush up and put your hand in its face. Simply stay calm and let the dog sniff you at its own pace. In many cases, just walking by gives them plenty of information about who you are!
๐Ÿถ Let the dog make the first move, and you'll help create a safer, more comfortable introduction for everyone.

Lately, I've really been missing working with dogs. After 15 years of owning and operating The Dog House, it's something that's never left my heart. I've been seriously thinking about bringing it back.

So I wanted to ask...

๐Ÿถ If The Dog House reopened, would you bring your dog back?

๐Ÿก Does anyone know of an empty dog boarding/daycare facility, kennel, or commercial property that might be available to lease?

๐Ÿค And lastly, is anyone interested in partnering on a dog-related business or knows someone looking for a business opportunity? I'd love to have a conversation and see what's possible.

Does your dog bolt out the door the second it opens?
Thatโ€™s not just frustrating โ€” it can be dangerous.
Hereโ€™s an easy training tip to help stop door-dashing:
๐Ÿฆด The โ€œWait at the Doorโ€ Trick
Before opening the door:
Put your dog on a leash.
Ask for a sit.
Slowly crack the door open.
If your dog gets up โ€” close the door.
The second they stay calm, reward with praise or a treat.
Repeat this daily for just 5 minutes.
Your dog learns:
๐Ÿ‘‰ Calm behavior makes the door open.
๐Ÿ‘‰ Rushing the door makes it close.
Consistency is everything. Even energetic dogs catch on quickly when the rules stay the same.
๐Ÿถ A calm dog at the door is a safer dog.
