Using all 4 quadrants, when training a dog is a must.

In this particular video, we are using 2 out of the 4. Positive reinforcement, negative reinforcement.

If you are trying to teach your dog, how to respond to leash pressure by going into the desired position hopefully you find this video helpful.

This is 9 month old Labrador retriever, Georgia. She is a field line Labrador with lots of energy!

She is here for the two week board and train. And as you see, one of the things we are working on is treadmill training.

There are a lot of benefits as I mentioned in the video on teaching your dog.How to walk on a treadmill. There is even another benefit that I did not mention that I used for one of my personal dogs that I lost last year. Whether it be very cold whether or hot weather that the geriatric dogs cannot handle. This is a great way to get them exercise! There were a lot of occasions where my older dog would walk up to the Treadmill. And look at me, waiting for me to turn it on.

Over socializing, your dog is one of the most common mistakes that I see the public make.

And if you do the following, this is what leads to the question of people wondering, why does my dog ignore me When i'm in public?
If you bring your new dog or puppy out into public and you allow them to start engaging with new people. And new dogs, you are now not only teaching them but also rewarding them for ignoring/not paying attention to you.
When bringing a new dog or puppy out into public, you should only be allowing the dog to interact with you. And every time they look to you and check in, you should be rewarding that, very heavily!! Remember, socializing does not mean physical contact.

Say hello to Dasher, he has a 9 month old golden retriever.
He is here for the 2 week board and train to learn all of the basics
And especially recall, he definitely likes to play the coming chase me game.

I still think these cream colored retrievers are the prettiest dogs out there.

We are out with Rusty getting home more exposure. He is getting more relaxed in public and his obedience has definitely improved.

We still have another 5 days left to his 3 week board and train. And will be working alot more in public.

I am out with Rusty today taking field trips and getting him some much needed exposure.

He is not a very confident dog. And is very sensitive to all of the strange people. And noises around him. I noticed the other day that shopping carts tend to be one of his weaknesses. So now we are taking time walking around the store. I'm pushing a shopping cart.
To desensitize him and get him used to being in close proximity of the things that make him nervous. Slowly he will figure out that there was nothing to worry about.

Here is a short clip working with ivy on her obedience. For her first time
In the store with this many environmentals, she did very well!

This was Bentley's very first trip
To the store. She does need some more work in highly distracting environments. But overall, after two weeks, and her first time in a public setting, she did pretty good.
