Meet Peanut! ๐Ÿฅœ
This handsome happy-go-lucky boy is full of energy and ready for a jogging partner! Peanut thinks walking is lame, "cool kids run," or so he says. He is always ready for an adventure, and maybe a little bit of mischief too. Either way, he'll definitely be your partner in crime. He has already been brought back once for being "too much," so he is a little heartbroken and really needs a home where his energetic personality can shine. If Peanut sounds like he may be your type of guy, please give us a call at 760-725-8120, he can't wait to meet you!

โ€œMaskaโ€ is available at Camp Pendleton Animal Shelter for adoption!

โ€œMaskaโ€ is available at Camp Pendleton Animal Shelter for adoption. He is an 8-year-old husky mix that is acting anything but the typical husky. He rarely barks and hasnโ€™t tried at all to go fence jumping. He prefers to lay around during the day but is always ready for a short walk when you pick up his leash. Maska does very well with other dogs but would recommend against kids due to him being so timid, heโ€™s never shown agression but is just uncomfortable. He takes a bit to get comfortable with you but does well in car rides, enjoying sticking his head out the window. Maska also does well with baths, no screaming involved and makes an amazing running partner, staying right by your side, loose leash and all. He stays off furniture and sleeps well through the night on his dog bed. Housetrained and does well with all dogs he meets. See the Petfinder link below and contact Camp Pendleton Animal Shelter to set up a meet.

Meet Mabel!
Mabel came to our shelter as a stray. She was dirty, extremely matted (one of the worst cases we have ever seen), and had a laceration on her neck. Despite the neglect Miss Mabel had endured, she had not lost faith in humanity, and jumped lovingly into our arms. After getting her a much needed emergency groom with the help of Paw-Sitive Grooming, and getting her neck stitched up, Mabel is finally ready for adoption! And let us tell you, she could not be more excited. This girl LOVES people, all she wants is someone to hang out with. Mabel is energetic and gets along well with other polite dogs. Due to her breed, Mabel will require regular grooming. If you're interested in Mabel please consider the commitment that her grooming will require, this girl cannot go through the horror she has already been through. If you think Mabel may just be the perfect best friend for you, please give us a call at 760-725-8120 and we'll arrange a meet and greet.

Nena is a sweet girl, as her name suggests. She is 3 years old and has been in the same family since she was a puppy. Her family situation has changed, and now she needs a new loving home. Nena can be a bit shy at first, especially around strangers, but she is wonderful once she gets to know you. She has lived with older children, has been an indoor/outdoor dog, has been allowed on the furniture, knows the commands sit and stand, and likes to play fetch. She walks nicely on a leash and would love a daily walk with you. Nena is a great medium-size dog too, so she would fit nicely into many home environments. If you're interested in Nena, please give us a call at 760-725-8120 to arrange a meet and greet.

Meet Honey!
Honey is a sweet girl looking for love, affection and a home to call her own. Honey was originally brought to us as a stray. However, after further investigation, we discovered that the person who turned her in lied and was in fact her owner, and had had her for most of her life. Sadly, her story is one that we encounter frequently. Honey is now safe and cared for at our shelter, but she would love to have a family of her own. Due to her past history at her previous home, Honey would do best in a home with no other pets, or children. Could you be the family she has dreamed of? If you're interested in Honey, please give us a call at 760-725-8120.

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ !๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ
Sweet Shar-pei Elle is just about 1 year old. She came to the shelter as a stray dog, and no one came to find her, so here she is, dreaming of a new loving forever home. She knows the command sit and likes a tasty treat as a reward. She has a gentle mouth when taking treats from you. She takes a minute to warm up to new people which is typical of her breed. Her left eye recently had to be removed after the vet exam revealed that it was abnormal and would be problematic for her. This charming girl is now feeling much better with that gookie gooey boo-boo eye gone. She is doing just fine with one eye, as most dogs do when they lose an eye.

A Shar-pei is not a breed for just anybody. Definitely do your research before adopting one to make sure she has the traits and characteristics that will be a good fit for your family. Some of the things you will learn: They are reserved and independent, devoted to their family, affectionate, like to snuggle, intelligent, and guarded with strangers. They are NOT typically high-energy, and do NOT require a ton of exercise. They are wary of other dogs. Not big fans of the water, so bath time could be interesting. Please do look up more info on the internet. We want her to have a forever family this time, please, with people will love her and properly care for her.

If you'd like to meet her, please do give us a call and we'll set up some get-acquainted time for you with her out in the play yard. She'd like to meet you!

The public is welcome to come adopt the patriotic pets at the Camp Pendleton Animal Shelter! All dogs and cats are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed, flea-treated, and micro-chipped prior to adoption. Adoption fee $110.

Even if you do not have regular, normal access to the base, please DO give us a call and we will work with you to arrange a meeting. Please call ahead at 760-725-8120.
