A couple of the dogs staying with us at the moment - from left to right: Quasar, Huckleberry, Rufus, and Goose. The two on the left are here for board and trains to address reactivity and couldn’t be with other dogs when they arrived. Quasar would have huge reactions at the sight of a dog 50-100 feet away. Huckleberry would growl and lunge at dogs on walks. He could not loose leash walk and was so anxious being in proximity to other dogs that he wouldn’t eat. He was tense upon slow introductions, would flash teeth, and snap at puppies. The two on the right have completed board and trains. Rufus the wirehaired pointing griffon was a wild child who could not follow basic commands, settle in the house, recall, or loose leash walk. Goose was over aroused and reactive to dogs and other fast moving objects. He would bark and lunge at dogs on walks, dragging his owners with him.
Reactivity and fear are some of our favorite things to work on. It’s life-changing when you can see a dog’s inner circle grow where they can interact and enjoy others around them.
Start the new year off right and get your canine companion in for training with us. We would love to help with any problem behaviors or to help polish up any existing training. Pack walks for Oceanside/Vista residents begin in January. Reach out for more information on any of our programs.
