How do you fare, my fellow holiday preppers? It's Little Bit, trying out my sassy new flat-topped hat in anticipation of a weekend of cheery revelry. That includes being requested by ye olde staff of the Ranch to share with ye good peoples the following:

πŸ¦ƒ Not sure about this turkey nonsense as we of the herd still prefer yummy oats and hay of the grass. Barn Buddies are welcome from 6-8AM and 4-5:30PM every single day for feasting. And that's our feasting...cleaning the homestead is also required...thank ye in advance for these gestures of kindness.

🐎 Grooming Gang is postponed until Friday morning this week so that you can indulge in those dishes prepared in your hearths. Enjoy! πŸŒ½πŸ—

🐴 THR is still on break this week but we would love to see our many and varied assistants appear on Saturday morn by 8AM to help with lessons and chores. Please do note that this is the one morn that Barn Buddies are usually not needed, unless a wicked storm approacheth and cancels lessons. (I have been informed that the weather will prove to be quite sunny this weekend. Huzzah!)

Be of good cheer until we see you again at the Ranch! πŸ’š

Due to inclement weather 🌧️, lessons are cancelled for Saturday. While Willow enjoys a day of napping, we would still love to see our volunteers from 6-8am and 4-5:30pm for mucking and feeding. Be safe out there! πŸ΄πŸ’šπŸˆ

⭐ Celebrating our November Ranch Stars, Matthew and Beau! ⭐

Since joining us in Spring 2024, Matthew has given over 150 volunteer hours! You’ll usually find him at Barn Buddies, mucking, feeding, and tucking the horses in for the night, but he was also a huge help at our Western Hoedown. Matthew loves seeing how excited the horses get for dinner and then spending time grooming them – especially his favorite horse, Beau! He says Beau always makes him laugh with the funny faces he pulls during grooming.

Beau, sponsored by our Board Chair, Traci Zell, is a 26 year old Quarter Horse gelding whose time as a mounted patrol horse has prepared him well for his work at the Ranch. With his strong work ethic and calm nature, he is a superstar in our riding and therapy programs – particularly with veterans and advanced riders. And when he’s not working hard, Beau shows off his silly side by clapping his lips or crossing his legs to scratch an itch!

We are so grateful for Matthew and Beau – an awesome duo who bring heart, humor, and hard work to the Ranch every day. We also want to thank Matthew and all of our veterans for their service to our country and for Beau’s role in providing a safe and welcoming place for them to be. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸ’šπŸ΄

πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰CONGRATULATIONS to our 2025 Volunteers of the Year – Joan Bonwood & Diane Cappellano!πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰

In our Equine Assisted Services Program, we are blessed to have two wonderful volunteers who embody our mission of inclusion and creating an environment where everyone can do and be their best. Joan and Di’s dedication shines through in every moment – whether they are gently encouraging riders, lovingly tending to the horses, or stepping in with a helping hand for events. They bring a spirit of generosity that lifts everyone around them – riders, volunteers, and staff alike. πŸ΄πŸ’š

Join us in thanking these two amazing ladies for consistently helping in all aspects of the success of our programming. Terrific volunteers make our programs possible – volunteers like Joan and Di make Ivey Ranch truly extraordinary! πŸ’«

Joan and Di were honored at the 2025 North County Philanthropy Council Volunteer Awards Celebration on Friday, October 17. Cynthia Renteria, Volunteer Coordinator, and Traci Zell, President of our Board of Directors, attended with them. We will be hosting an onsite celebration soon so stay tuned for more details.
