Ocean City Dog Park, NJ

Ocean City will host a free rabies clinic from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2025 at the Ocean City Fire Department headquarters at 550 Asbury Avenue.

Dogs must be licensed in the State of New Jersey, and to renew a license, a rabies vaccine must be good for at least 10 months into the licensing year. All dogs 6 months or older, or having a permanent set of teeth must be licensed. A current rabies certificate must be provided as well as proof of spay/neuter. The cost is $10 for all dogs that are not spayed/neutered and $7 for those that are.

All dog licenses are renewable in January. Renewal notices are sent the first week of the new year and licenses may be renewed by mail utilizing the renewal notice. Please bring your renewal notice, if you bring your dog to the clinic. Any licenses not renewed by March 31 will incur a $4 late fee.

The Ocean City Dog Park is scheduled to be closed on Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2024, to allow for the installation of new equipment for the dogs. This is the first phase of equipment upgrades. The park will reopen on a regular schedule on Thursday, Dec. 5.

The Dog Park will be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday, July 23 and July 24, to allow for the repair of fencing.

July 18, 2022 Update: Upgrades are being made to the Dog Park gate software system. Paw Pass holders may experience intermittent outages with their passes working and gaining access. The repairs should be completed Friday, July 22.

Posted !! Come out to see the photos and bios of the past decade winners of the Dog of the Year Contests. Vote for your favorite Pooch by making a donation. All donations go to the dog park for upkeep and to the Ocean City Humane Society.

A Furry Tale of Friendship, Family and Fundraising in Ocean City

OCEAN CITY - The Ocean City Dog Park Association and The Humane Society of Ocean City announced today that the Dog of the Year Contest will no longer be produced by The Ocean City Dog Park Association. This Year’s contest will be managed by The Humane Society of Ocean City with the guidance of The Ocean City Dog Park Association. Proceeds from this year’s contest will benefit the Humane Society of Ocean City. For this extraordinary contest year, past Dog of the Year winners will compete for the crown of Dog of the Decade. The Ocean City Dog Park Association wanted to make this a truly special occasion as they hand over their annual fund raiser to their friends at the Humane Society of Ocean City.

Look for voting boards on the Ocean City Boardwalk at Moorlyn Terrace outside of the Music Pier later this month. You can vote with cash or checks made payable to the Humane Society of Ocean City. The dog that raises the most money for the Humane Society of Ocean City with be crowned Dog of the Decade. All of the furry fundraisers will be featured in the 2017 Humane Society of Ocean City Calendar. According to contest manager Tina Wagner, “Every dog that helps raise money in the contest is a winner and so is everyone who contributes funds to help the dogs of Ocean City.”
