Hello!
I am reaching out to inform you that there has been an increased prevalence of respiratory infections in dogs over the past couple months. It appears that many of these dogs have been vaccinated with DHPP, Bordatella and Influenza. Some affected dogs needed intensive hospitalization, and we are seeing that they are not responding as quickly to typical antibiotic therapy. Most dogs that are affected have been to areas where dogs socialize frequently. If your dog is experiencing any respiratory symptoms, it is best to contact the veterinarian ASAP. We are also telling clients to please isolate any affected dogs from common dog areas for at least 14 days. Thank you. Stay safe and healthy.🐶❤️

See you in the New Year!

Over half of U.S. dogs and cats are considered obese. Pet obesity can reduce life expectancy and cause arthritis, diabetes, and cancer.

Hi All! There has been a lot of talk in the past few weeks regarding the risk of grain free pet foods. I wanted to help shed some light to the many questions about what veterinarians find important when recommending the best food for our animal companions. I recommend reading 3 articles from a board certified veterinary nutritionist. These are some of the best articles I have found to help navigate through the specifics of what is important when deciding on pet foods.

The staff at Sonoma County Mobile Vet is finally taking a sigh of relief now that a bit of rain is here. It has been a very tough couple of weeks as we all feel the pain and suffering in our county. I want to give a big thanks to all of the First Responders, Fire Fighters, and all of those veterinary volounteers, especially the good work of the Sonoma Humane Society. Reuniting pets with thier families gives us hope and motivation to truly stay Sonoma Strong. Many of our clients and patients have suffered devastation due to the fires. Please feel free to continue to reach out to us for help. We are here for you anytime! We are all in this together.
The first picture is of the Redwood Christian Alliance here in Occidental where the firefiighters were able to come for rest. Our hearts go out to them! The other picture is of Izzy the dog who is my wonderful patient who braved the fires at her home, and made it out without any injuries. Brave Izzy!
Join us at the West County Rising benefit at Negri's Restaurant in Occidental. This will be a spaghetti dinner, dance and silent auction to raise money for the families affected by the fires. It will be Friday November 10th at 5:30pm.
Lots of love to you all.
