Some Pics of Cozy Pines Blue Lightning in his first 3 weeks. He is a Blue Roan Tobiano (Pinto) Gypsy Vanner c**t. He is out of a full sister to my show horse Tango- “Sapphire” and by SD Blue. Both parents are 15.1h. Blue Lightning was bred to be a flashy show horse, he is a bundle of energy and super friendly c**t.

Cozy Pines Princess Tango - 6th in 2025 National Rankings with USEF & WDAA for Western Dressage Intro Level Amateur

Recently Cozy Pines Princess Tango and I Received a big ribbon in the mail. It is from The United States Equestrian Federation (USEF), we finished 6th place in the National Rankings for 2025 in our Level in the Amateur division (which is their largest division). We also finished 6th in National Rankings with the Western Dressage Association of America (WDAA). I would like to again thank Sheri Nall for all her hard work with Tango and I. I did not know anything about Western Dressage, classical Dressage or even riding English before we started working together. Sheri taught us everything from scratch and 2025 was our first year competing in Western Dressage. We have already started competing in the next level up. With that, I have decided to breed Tango again, with the same sire of her only foal (Perfecta)- but utilizing ICSI, she will have her oocytes (eggs) harvested, to be artificially fertilized with frozen semen to create embryo(s) to be implanted in surrogates, so she can continue her show progress while other surrogate mares cary the foal(s). The foals are guaranteed to be Grulla Tobiano like perfecta in color. perfecta turned 3 years old in May and is a nice 15 hands tall now, still growing and the sweetest horse just like Tango. Tango is the horse of my dreams and I am so happy with her only filly, I would like to see some brothers & sisters.

We have a name! Cozy Pines Blue Lightning! He is Blue Roan in color, his Sire’s name is SD Blue, he has a lightning bolt on his side. Video from yesterday when he came home at 48 hours old. Go Blue Lightning, Go!

Sapphire had her long awaited foal this morning! This foal has been in the works for two years! 2 years ago we tried Artificial Insemination twice, since the stallion is in SC, and I am in FL. It did not work, summer had come so I decided to wait till the following spring to try again (to avoid Sapphire having to carry a foal in Florida’s hot humid summers). So I shipped Sapphire to SC for the old fashioned way. She took the first try- BUT when ultra sounded to confirm pregnancy, it revealed twins (99% of the time twins do not survive, mares typically can’t cary two 100 # babies). The vets always recommend pinching one, for any hope of a live foal. The local vet tried, but couldn’t do it. So we had to send Sapphire 250 miles away to another town in SC, to a vet hospital for the procedure. The Breeder was so helpful in taking care of all this for me. There is always a chance the other embryo will not take. But it did. This long awaited foal is a Blue Roan Tobiano (Pinto) C**t. He is big & strong, pics are at just over an hour old and he was still wet. Sire is 15.1h SD Blue, dam is also 15.1h “Whiskey River Bombay Sapphire” (Tango’s full sister) by World Champion, Legion of Excellence & #1 in the Nation Amateur Performance & Overall (2018) Stallion MnM Princely Inheritance (BoDee) made famous by Savannah Keaton & Tammy Keaton of Tea Mountain Farm in VA. This big Blue Roan c**t was bred to be a show horse!

Happy Easter everyone! We had family over to the farm Saturday. It is great to share horses with the next generations. I was obsessed with horses as a kid, but grew up in the city as the only one in my family into horses. I bought my first horse when I was 14 with money I saved from a paper route.

Today Cozy Pines Princess Tango won all three of the Western Dressage test classes she went in, including my first test in the next level up, Basic Level, Test 2. Our awesome trainer: Sheri Nall rode Tango in Basic Level Test 4 with the highest score for that level, winning Highpoint Champion, I won Reserve Champion with the next highest score. My favorite part of Western Dressage is the scorecards, providing a score for each of the 16 or so maneuvers in each test as well as in 5 overall categories. One judge noted “Perfectly Paired Team” (see pic) that means the world to me.

Cozy Pines Pandemonium (Panda) was started under saddle today. He has had lots of ground work done the last couple of years, including with saddle & bridle, including ground driving. But today was his first day with a rider on his back. It was pretty uneventful- but a big milestone for me. Panda was the first Gypsy Vanner foal I had. He is out of Tango’s full sister Sapphire. His sire is by St Clarins lines. Panda has won several halter classes at Gypsy Vanner shows and all breed shows. Now he is the sire to my new c**t Midnight Thunder and starting his riding career with trainer Sheri Nall.
