Last week our team came together for our annual Christmas party and award ceremony!

A huge thank you to the Braised Onion Restaurant for their amazing service and delicious food. Their team was wonderful and easy to work with.

After a delicious meal, we handed out awards starting with our Loyalty Legends, those who have been on our team for at least FOUR years: Emily, Lauren, Katlin, Colin, Zach, Ashley, Sunday, Angel, Amanda, Savannah, Adam, & Bryce. We are so grateful for their longtime commitment. Reaching this milestone is a testament to their loyalty, perseverance, and unwavering commitment to excellence.

Our bather, Cheryl, received the Spotlight Award for being a steady source of reliability, consistency, and pure hard work. She delivers exceptional bathing results day after day and we are very thankful for her.

Our Meet & Greet Specialist, Brook, received our Rising Star Award which recognizes her professionalism, compassion, and efficiency. Her ability to handle multiple tasks with grace, competency, and a "can do" spirit, has served to strengthen our team overall, as well as ensure great customer interactions.

We recognized Nida & Mya as our Junior Rising Stars for their hard work and dedication!

Our Team Player Award is awarded to those who embody the spirit of teamwork and collaboration. These individuals always come with positive attitudes, reliability, and a willingness to support their teammates. Devin came in 3rd place, Lamarion came in 2nd place, and Hector & Angel tied for 1st place!

The Impact Maker Award recognizes someone whose presence has made a meaningful and immediate difference at Red Fern. In less than a year, Lauren has shown us what dedication, heart, and natural talent look like in action. Starting as a kennel tech, she quickly rose to reservation specialist - an advancement earned not by seniority, but by her unmistakable warmth, compassion, and care for both pets and people. Congratulations, Lauren!

This year we introduced a new award: the Canine Companion Award which honors a team member whose devotion to dog - and to Red Fern - runs deep. Amanda has played a vital role in shaping and elevating our Enrichment daycare programs, bringing creativity, structure, and heart to each activity and every dog in her care. Congratulations Amanda!

Finally, we awarded the Red Fern Award, our highest honor, to Olivia. This award is reserved for someone whose journey reflects the heart, grit, and spirit of resilience found at the core of Where the Red Fern Grows. Olivia joined Red Fern just over a year ago as a kennel tech and has worked tirelessly, steadily rising to also become an Enrichment daycare counselor. Her journey reminds us the success isn't handed out - it's cultivated through character, effort, and belief in what's possible.

Congratulations to all of our recipients and our entire team for making Red Fern possible!

Congratulations to Hector, our October Top Dog of the Month!

Hector is humbly, hungry, and smart - all things we look for in a great team member. For a year and a half he has worked hard and cared well for all the pups who visit the Lodge. He is well deserving of this recognition.

Thank you Hector!

It’s all about dog love....

The Red Fern Pet Lodge is OPEN! We are a locally owned pet care facility located at 1509 NE 22nd Avenue, Ocala. We provide dog daycare, overnight lodging, grooming and doggy spa services and, in time, will add basic obedience training, photography and other related services. Our brand new state-of-the-art facility is conveniently located within the city of Ocala just off of NE 14th Street. Call us at 352-355-4310 and set up a tour!

The Red Fern Pet Lodge is a state-of-the-art facility that contains 8,300 SF. The Lodge is equipped with air handling and sanitation systems designed to prevent and/or combat possible pathogens in order to maintain a clean, sanitary, and fresh smelling environment for our guests. The Lodge features indoor play areas, as well as, 2.25 acres of outdoor play areas. A full size, in-ground swimming pool will be completed soon!

The Red Fern Pet Lodge is owned and operated by Dick and Garnet Andrews and their three girls, Lauren, Emily and Allison. This dream of ours began several years ago in a typical family conversation. We, like so many others, found ourselves recovering from a severe downturn in the real estate market and looking to the future. My wife Garnet and I were looking to rent or make use of some commercial rental space and we challenged our children to be involved with any ideas for its use. We were open to the idea of a family business. The idea that stuck was a doggy daycare! Having dogs of our own, we often encountered difficulty in dog care whenever we went away on vacation. We soon discovered that many of our friends had the same problem. So, with an idea, a large building that needed to be used, a love for animals, and a lot of faith, we set out on this adventure.

We quickly learned that the specialized pet boarding market was relatively young, but growing fast. It seems we Americans love our dogs and cats as nearly 70% of us have one or more. And most of us treat our furry friends as family! We engaged an architect (Michelle Partin - Partin Architecture), a building contractor (Phil Brescia - Passion Build), and we have become a certified kennel operator through Master Plan Pet Care. With the ongoing training and support of Master Plan Pet Care, we will maintain the highest standards in pet safety, security, and thoughtful care.
