As of June 1st, we currently have 350 animals in the shelter, with 212 animals available for adoption including those in foster care!

Adoptable animals include:
135 adoptable dogs
77 adoptable cats

Thank you to our community & rescue partners for stepping up this week and to all of you who have stopped by to adopt, foster, or volunteer! We understand all rescues are overwhelmed at this time, but we want to give a big thank you to the following for accepting transfers from us this week:

We’re back at it today at the MEGA Dog Adoption Festival in Plant City.
EIGHT agencies are working together to bring you hundreds of dogs ready to go to new homes.

We are all eager to see you show up for our homeless dogs and change some lives. We’re from 10am-5pm. Adoption fees are waived!

Eleven-year-old Peanut is with us today at the MEGA Dog Adoption Festival in Plant City, FL.

We thought for sure he would be the first dog adopted from our booth, but not yet. 😩😩

This is a call out to those who have a tender spot for seniors, Pomeranian lovers, or softies who don’t mind giving extra attention to a dog whose puppy years are long behind them.

Full disclosure, Peanut has a heart murmur, and some typical old guy aches- even more of a reason to get him into a home where his days can be spent feeling valued and adored.

Our shelter is in immediate need of clean towels.

Bath and body-sized are our most used. If you have a few to spare, we'd sure appreciate the donation.

You can drop them off at our new shelter, located at 6405 W. Hwy 40 in Ocala, which is close to the Ocala airport.

Our hours are Tuesday-Saturday, 10am-5pm.

We are joining our friends again in Plant City this weekend for the Mega Dog Adoption Festival 2026!
Staff is working hard to get all of our supplies together today, and will head there tomorrow for set-up.
Then, THREE DAYS OF DOG FUN!!
