I make human-grade, raw companion snacks for dogs and cats. I research dietary needs and deficiencies for health maintenance, and specifically target common health issues with the end goal of resolving as much as we can through diet and nutrition. I am passionate about promoting great health for our companions with food and snacks. I have personally developed several recipes using organic vegetables, raw meats and organ meats that are air-dried or freeze dried. These snacks are loaded with protein, polyphenols, antioxidants, EFAs, vitamins, minerals, and last but not least--enzymes. Additionally, they are great for dental health because of their consistency.
I believe that our medical and veterinary professions don't truly understand and appreciate the many healing qualities of specific foods and supplements. They turn to drugs first, which usually leads to other issues and/or more drugs down the road. In my opinion, this goes against the core values of what practicing medicine should be about. I am on a never-ending path of discovery for new ideas, with the goal of continuing to learn more today than yesterday.
I am a multi-state licensed registered nurse and have studied and researched nutrition since the late ‘70’s. I have believed for over four decades that nutrition, supplements, and clean healthy foods play a huge role in minimizing disease and discomfort as well as providing quality of life. As a registered nurse, I have repeatedly witnessed the positive effects of many natural remedies thru foods and supplements, thereby reducing the need for many drugs. I use that knowledge and experience to create snacks and food that provides all those positive benefits to our most loyal and loved companions. I call them snacks because they are real food--not “treats” that are usually given only as rewards.
All my products are made in small batches, for optimal flavor and nutrition; never any flavorings, sugars, or preservatives are used in my process of making these tasty morsels. They are 100% raw, then gently air-dried or freeze dried. 1 lb. of raw, fresh chicken equals 4 oz of my air-dried chicken snacks, delivering a whopping 118 grams of pure protein!
