Hello Farriers, this post is to try and answer some questions regarding Shoeing at the World Equestrian Center in Ocala Florida. FarriersInc, the official farrier group managing the farrier position, would like to extend a warm welcome! We look forward to seeing you and are wishing everyone a healthy and successful show circuit.
1. WEC welcomes all farriers and Veterinarians to come work on and manage their REGULAR client's horses.
2. There are 2 designated farrier buildings you can use and YES, there is Power! It is located above your head in the building in front of Barn P (we are working on relocating it to a more convenient height) or on the backside of the back wall in the building by barn W. It would be advantageous to have an extension cord.
3. You may shoe in the barns however there are some considerations, mainly, NO TRUCKS OR TRAILERS are allowed inside the barn.
4. Please check-in at the Official Farrier station upon arrival PRIOR to setting up or working to sign a work agreement, Covid Release, and get your work/Parking pass. The Official farrier is located in the NW corner of Barn E facing the Chapel. We hopefully will have an updated Stall chart to let you know where your clients are and discuss the best shoeing options.
5. The red line areas on the attached map are the area's you can park your truck/trailer. Please park parallel to the barn in between the overhead doorways. You may not block any overhead doorway. The two shoeing buildings are open to anyone, so feel free to use those.
6. The other images are a copy of the agreement you will need to sign in order to get a work/parking pass. The official farrier has the forms so there is no need to print anything out prior to your arrival.
This is our inaugural year and we look forward to learning how we can improve this experience. We look forward to seeing you at WEC!
