Happy Monday!!

If getting your pet’s medicine refilled, buying pet food, making that appointment for pet vaccinations or boarding, getting your supplies to work calves or even just buying a new fall candle is on your to do list this week, we are open regular hours. This time next week (Monday, September 1st), our office will be closed for Labor Day and will only be available for emergencies. Make plans now so you are ready to enjoy your weekend!!

It is back to school time!!

Don’t forget those furry family members when thinking about back to school shots, exams and supplies. Our staff is able to help make sure you have all your pet’s vaccinations caught up and get you set up for nail trims, baths and flea & tick prevention as you head into fall.

Making a difference Monday!

A part of being a small business is not just providing the products and services but is also being part of the community and helping it thrive. Our business is no different.

Last week we wrapped up fair season! We are invited to and encouraged to attend 4 county fairs in our service area. We try hard to be a part of supporting all of them in some way, shape or form. This year we did some different things to try and support our loyal customers and their fair families.

In Sheridan County we provided pizza and water for all the 4-H kids and their families for their fair set up.

In Norton, Rawlins and Sheridan County we supported our busy long time, loyal livestock families with coolers, drinks and snacks to get them through fair week.

In Decatur County we supported all 4-H kids participating in the fair by partnering with the local Cloverbuds and Pathway Ag - Oberlin to provide snacks and water while Pathway provided meal tickets. We also purchased food at the 4-H Food Auction and livestock at the 4-H/FFA Livestock Sale. Also, if you ran into Dr. Hissong, no doubt he had some ride tickets to share.

We aren’t always able to make it to all the fairs and this year was one of those years so we tried a few different things to show our appreciation for your business and loyalty to our business. We hope you all enjoyed them and we are sorry if we somehow missed someone because that was not our intention.

We appreciate our customers, many of which have become friends, and we are glad to support them as they support us. You will also see our staff volunteering in various roles throughout our area communities to help where they can. We feel like making a difference isn’t always shown with money but also time and our staff shows up with their time when and where they can and fair week was no exception.

Thank you for your loyal support of our business and we hope everyone had a safe and memorable fair season.

Tonight is the last night of the Decatur County Fair. If you haven’t been yet, please join in all the fun. There are so many volunteers in all of our area communities that make this possible. Be sure and thank them for their hard work and time commitments to make this all happen.

Heartland Veterinary Service employees enjoy being a part of volunteering and they are a small part of making this all happen. We have staff that work rides, help with livestocks shows and are livestock superintendents, help with the petting zoo and so much more. It takes everyone doing a little for this to happen.

A huge shout out to those who plan, organize, construct/dismantle, maintain and put in countless hours making this all happen. We all appreciate you!!!

🎉🐾 🐮10 Years of Heartland Veterinary Service of Oberlin, P.A.! 🐴🐾🎉

While the name on the door changed 10 years ago, our commitment and goals of providing compassionate, high-quality veterinary care to pets and livestock while being a part of the area communities we served did not.

Over the past decade, we’ve shared in your joys, comforted you in tough times, as well as maintained and built lasting relationships that go far beyond the exam room or the pens. From routine wellness visits to emergency care, farm calls to small animal surgery, we are honored to be the HEART of your animal healthcare.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us over these 10 years — we couldn’t have done it without you. Here’s to many more years of serving Oberlin and the surrounding communities with the same heart and dedication. ❤️🐶🐱🐴🐮

Some local fairs are over and some are in the final stretch of preparation before they start.

We see all of you who are working so hard to be there for our youth. Whether it is helping with animal preparation or giving guidance on food or craft projects. Whether you a fair superintendent or a local extension agent. Whether you are an employer working schedules around so parents are able to be there for their kids’ activities or a grandparent helping to give support wherever needed.

We see you all and say thank you for being there for our area kids and being that amazing example of positivity and commitment to a job well done!

We were very blessed with the opportunity to have K-State Veterinary Student, Callie Moore, job shadow our doctors this week!

Our office is rarely boring and this week was no different and she got the opportunity to see a lot of veterinary healthcare first hand.
