We are hiring!!

Position Available:
Weekend/Holiday Kennel Assistant

Requirements:
🐶 Must like animals. (Experience preferred but not required)
🚗 Must have reliable transportation to get to and from work.
⏰ Must be reliable and trustworthy. (References will be required on the application.)
🗓️Must be available to work weekends (rotating schedule) and holiday (rotating schedule).
🧽 Must be physically able to clean and lift up to 40 pounds.

** Please note - we reserve the right to do random drug screenings.

This is a part time position and would be a great extra job for a pet lover or for a high school student. Applicant must be at least 15 years old.

Stop in during business hours to pick up an application.

Everyone at Heartland Veterinary Service hope you and your family had an amazing Christmas!

Just a quick reminder as you continue to celebrate through the New Year that there are many, many things that are holiday don’ts.

Treats are great as long as you know what and what not to give. Chocolate, grapes, fatty meat, and table scraps are don’ts.

We love that you love your pet and want to gift someone else that same kind of love. Please be thoughtful of the commitment a pet is when considering gifting a pet. Pets require food, love, attention and time. Pets need vaccinations and wellness exams to stay healthy. Pets are an emotional and financial commitment. If in doubt, stuffed animals are a much safer gift.😉

As you clean up after celebrating, please watch what your pet has access to. Bones, wrapping/ribbon, stuffing from packages and leftover food can be tempting for the pets while the family naps or is headed to another gathering.

We want you and your pets to enjoy your holidays! As much as we like to see you and your pets, emergency visits that can be avoided we know you will be much happier with.

Our office is back to regular office hours starting today, Friday, December 26th.

Our office will be closed to routine appointments on December 24th and 25th. We will reopen on December 26th for regular business hours!

If you are needing to get medication refilled, pet food, and cattle working supplies (for those families who enjoy quality family time working cattle on Christmas), please take time to do that BEFORE Christmas Eve Day.

We are very thankful for our clients but without our amazing staff, we couldn’t do what we do so we are giving them quality time away from the office with their families. We will have a veterinarian on call for your emergency needs by calling our office number.

Our staff has been on the go working cattle of all ages these past couple of weeks and this week is no exception.

Do you work your own?
Do you need our help?
Do you need supplies?

What can we do to help you out?
We can get you all the supplies (vaccines, tags, needles, syringes of all types, sorting sticks, etc.).
We can help you work them whether it be at our facility or yours and we can even bring help and/or our portable hydraulic chute.

Have questions? We can help you there too!!

We have two amazing veterinarians and great support staff that can take care of about anything you need cattle wise except for building fence and breaking ice for you.

Give us a call today at 785-475-3808 to schedule service work (times are filling up), get supplies ordered for pick up or just to ask a few questions.
