Whenever we take people out riding we get asked how to handle grass eating… We allow it, under these conditions:

1. Their gate doesn’t change.
2. Their direction doesn’t change.
3. They stay soft.

If any of that does change to eat grass, they get hustled out of it & have to get to work at a faster pace. Resist the urge to pull at their face.

Eating while we stop/break is perfectly fine— in fact we encourage it. It keeps our equines happy, relaxed & willing.

At any rate, now that we know he will be an amazing non-pro horse in either cutting or crossing over to Versatility, he’s coming home.

I can’t decide if I’ll put this nice gelding up for sale, or not (if you know Stella and his maternal sister Astrid, with Brandon Buttars)… you’d understand the debacle!
