Veterinary Donations & Fosters Needed❕

This morning, we took in two dogs from extremely concerning circumstances. Both are currently stable and receiving care and pain management, but significant veterinary expenses are anticipated following more in-depth examinations scheduled for Monday. At this time, both dogs are exhausted, so we are allowing them to rest while monitoring them closely. Two immediate foster placements are also urgently needed.

Brewer (male)
Brewer was found in Andover with wounds to his feet, paws, legs, and neck. Initially, it was believed he may have been hit by a car; however, his injuries are not consistent with vehicular trauma. He has a thick, glue-like substance covering the back half of his body, with a severe skin infection underneath. Brewer is stable, currently on pain medication and antibiotics, and will be bathed once he has regained enough strength.

Penelope (female) – active investigation
Penelope was found while her owner attempted to poison her with carbon monoxide by locking her inside a vehicle with a hose running from the exhaust into the window. She survived. Due to the ongoing investigation, details are limited. Penelope is stable and receiving care while being closely monitored. She does have severe cauliflower ears consistent with chronic, painful ear infections.

Both dogs will have follow-up veterinary exams on Monday, provided they remain stable. If you can help with a donation toward their care please visit our website linked below.

About Companion Animal Control

Founded in 2011, Companion Animal Control LLC provides humane animal control, rescue, and animal welfare education to over 25 cities in Pierce County, WI, St. Croix County, WI and Washington County, MN. CAC provides animal control services while working in cooperation with local law enforcement, dispatch, city/county officials, animal impound facilities and 501c3 rescues to ensure public safety, enforcement of animal related local, state and federal laws while advancing animal welfare in the community.

On this page, CAC posts photos and descriptions of animals impounded with the intent to locate an owner. Animals not reclaimed by an owner are transferred to local foster based animal rescues and shelters for adoption.
