🚨 **Attention Cat Owners!** 🚨

Did you know that lilies are **extremely toxic to cats**? 🐱🌸 The entire lily plant—stem, leaves, flowers, pollen, and even the water in a vase—can cause **fatal kidney failure** if ingested, often in less than 3 days.

Lilies like Easter, Stargazer, and Tiger lilies are especially dangerous. Even licking a few pollen grains can lead to serious harm. Early symptoms include drooling, vomiting, and loss of appetite. If you suspect your cat has ingested any part of a lily, **act fast** and contact your vet right away.

🎉 What an AMAZING Open House we had on the 18th! 🎉

We had so much fun meeting all the wonderful people and adorable pets who stopped by to celebrate with us. It truly warmed our hearts to see the community come together to support Hometown Veterinary Partners Silver Lake! 🐾

Hometown Hero: Strawberry’s Sweet Comeback! 🍓

Meet Strawberry, one of our favorite little champs at Hometown Veterinary Partners Silver Lake! When she came to us with a big facial swelling, we were deeply concerned. A thorough investigation revealed a troubling mass in her mouth, raising worries about cancer or severe dental disease.

After discussing all her options with her amazing family, we decided to dive deeper with an anesthetized dental investigation. What did we find? A severely infected tooth was behind the swelling! With dental radiographs to guide us, we safely removed the culprit and gave this sweet girl a conservative shot at recovery.

And guess what? Strawberry crushed it! She’s healed beautifully and is back to her mischievous self (even sneaking into the trash!). We couldn’t be prouder of her and her family for trusting us to give her a healthier, happier life.

Here’s to Strawberry—our hometown hero who proves that a little love and care can make a world of difference! 💖🐾

🚨 Important Update: Protect Your Cats from Avian Influenza (H5N1) 🚨

Recent reports of avian influenza (H5N1) in cats highlight the importance of keeping our pets safe. While cases are rare, we want to ensure you’re informed and prepared to protect your furry friends.

What is Avian Influenza?
Avian influenza primarily affects birds but can infect cats if they:
🐾 Hunt or scavenge wild birds
🐾 Come into contact with infected poultry or livestock
🐾 Consume raw or undercooked poultry or dairy products

Signs of Infection in Cats:
⚠️ Fever
⚠️ Lethargy or decreased appetite
⚠️ Eye or nasal discharge
⚠️ Difficulty breathing
⚠️ Neurological signs like seizures or tremors

How to Keep Your Cats Safe:
🐱 Keep cats indoors to avoid exposure to wild birds.
🍗 Avoid feeding raw meat, poultry, or unpasteurized dairy products.
🐓 Keep them away from poultry or livestock environments.
👀 Monitor for symptoms and contact us if you’re concerned.
