🎉 98 cats and kittens (& 2 bunnies) rescued today! 🎉
Early this morning, we sent 100 animals on a rescue transport. While we’re thrilled to see them head toward their forever homes, the cost of preparing such a large group is significant. It cost us at least $1,042 to get these little rescues ready for their journey.
Here’s the breakdown of those immediate costs:
🩸 FIV/FeLV testing: $198
💉 Vaccinations: $408
🪱 Flea/tick & dewormer: $236
⛽️ Gas for the transport: $200
💵 TOTAL: $1,042

✅ Drop off donations directly: Between 8am-5pm at 201 Maple Ave, Oak Hill.
You might notice this total is lower than our last transport, even though we sent out more animals this month! We were able to find a supplier with cheaper FeLV/FIV blood tests, which saved us a massive amount of money on medical prep.
However, this total still doesn't account for the mountains of pine pellets (litter) used, the dry and wet food, the spiked water bills from constant laundry and dishes, van maintenance, or the essential staff and volunteer hours required to coordinate a rescue of this scale.
These are friendly strays with nowhere to call home, indoor pets whose owners could no longer afford to feed them, and mamas and babies whose owners couldn't spay or neuter in time. Some are even pets who have lost their owners and had nowhere else to turn. When these animals are surrendered, the surrenderers are usually not in a position where they can contribute toward the cost of care—if they were, they wouldn't be in the heartbreaking position of surrendering them in the first place. 💔
With no outside funding, we rely totally on your support to keep these transports moving. If you can help us cover these costs and contribute toward the ongoing care of the animals still in our facility, please consider donating today. Every dollar ensures we can continue saying yes to animals in need. 🙏
Thank you for helping us give these 100 rescues their second chance! Please share this post to help us reach our goal! ❤️
