Looks like they are maturing to be pretty dogs! This is a great opportunity to get a puppy with a big head start on training! Lindsey is being careful about who gets one of her puppies- ensuring that the puppies have a good home and that they are a good fit for their potential family as well.

I have started to buy this rubber chicken countless times. I always put it back because I figured the dogs would drive me crazy with the noise it makes. 🤣 I finally caved. Reign and Lucy really aren't very interested in it, but Gus has a weird infatuation with it, but it also seems to kind of blow his mind. When he picks it up, he does it very softly, as if he's carrying a puppy. When I let him have it, he will just lay with it, whine at it, maybe roll it around gently a bit and licks it. Gus is a weirdo. 😅

I'm a bit late sharing these (MONTHS 🤣) but here we go... our last UKC show, Gus was entered in nosework (interiors, vehicles and containers), rally obedience and conformation. I haven't shown him in conformation since he was a puppy. My primary reason for going was the performance events, but since I knew I wouldn't be worried with the grooming requirements of showing a brushed coat, I thought, why not enter him in confo too? I can skip it if it's too burdensome. And MAYBE, just maybe he can snag a Total Dog award while we're there."

He had quite a bit of damage to his cords- basically none left on the back of his neck and rear portion of the top of his head, AND I chopped off what I was struggling to get right on his chest... so I didn't expect much in confo, as the missing cords mess up his outline (almost equivalent to showing in a modern trim with big hair eveywhere, but shaving the back of the neck and head 🫤 Not balanced... lol!)

It was HOT. I had to ditch my nice, fancy show jacket to survive. 😆 The second show, I ditched my dress shoes and adopted my brightly colored tennis shoes, because my feet were KILLING me from running in the show ring and running from event to event. Fortunately, we did not leave empty handed. Gus finished his UR02 (rally) and picked up all but one leg of a UR03 title. He also finished his containers and interior nosework titles and gained 1 leg for vehicles. In conformation, he got two Group 4 placements out of 9 gun dog breeds, which also earned him 2 Total Dog awards.

When we are finished with our work project and semi-recuperate from our barn/shop fire, I hope to get him out again to finish the UR03 and nosework vehicle titles.

* Gus will be 8 in December. 😭

🤞For Gus/Adelaide puppies! For those who don't know Adelaide, she is out of Fireside's Violet and sired by Crystal Creek's Remmy. She is a UKC grand champion with trick, fast cat, barn hunt, obedience and rally titles. See link to Lindsey's post in comments for details including links to health testing. Gus' eyes/CAER have been updated for 2024, but have not been posted to OFA yet (they should be soon.)

Adelaide and Gus went on their date this last week!! 🩷🐾🩷🐾
Adelaide was very smitten with her boyfriend Gus. Things went well and we had several good breedings. Hopefully we will be expecting puppies!!! 🤞🏻
Adelaide will have an ultrasound to confirm pregnancy on August 12th. Estimated due date for puppies is around September 11th.
A huge thank you to Kim Smith of Artista Poodles for allowing me to use Gus. I am so thankful for her and all her help and experience. Everything went very smoothly.
These are going to be some amazing puppies! I am even more excited after getting to meet Gus in person.

Gus and Reign helping with laundry. Reign was reluctant at first in this video because Gus had quietly growled at her a little bit earlier when she was helping get clothes out. Talk about a jealous dog. 🤣 Then he was mad at me for pushing him back so she could help some. Gus was taught as a puppy to start picking things up for me. Reign learned to get laundry by watching Gus.
