Covenant Pet Trust Inc. Update on Foster boy, "Thor".
Still looking for Foster!
Here is a quick overview of some of the questions we've gotten:
Female dogs ✅️
Male dogs ❌️
Cats ✅️
Friendly strangers ✅️
Kids ⚠️
Thor still prefers to be outside, and loves his self employed watch dog duties. Every morning he bounds around smelling everything to make sure it's just how he left it. He's an absolute sweet pea for our family, and has accepted strangers, too. Because he was an outside dog his entire life, and not exposed to many guests, I do tell people to ignore him initially. So far, he has wanted pets from everyone, but he gets to interact on his own terms. 😊
Younger kids would make Thor uncomfortable, older kids he likes.
The happiness this dude exudes when he sees me is priceless, he gives me a one of a kind squeaky whine, his entire body wiggles, and looks right at me making it abundantly clear when it's time for some lovings.
Thor has been a very easy boy in general, but it is important that he be housed with a female at least his size (he's a shmedium). Male dogs are his least favorite thing, although during his time here he is learning to be more neutral as time goes on.
We've had some time to do a bit of off leash obedience, which I'm happy to have added to his arsenal for his future family to utilize around the home.
He has plenty of energy for a 9 year old dog, but with age has come a nice off switch. He knows how to relax!
Thor's only real vice, in my opinion, is that he will resource gaurd food. That being the case, he is fed every single meal in a kennel or alone in a fenced off area. Once the food is gone, he's ready to play with his buddies. We have several female dogs that Thor adores, including two young puppies.
