Second Chance Animal Rescue of Levittown, New York (SCARNY) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to rescue abandoned and abused animals and find them loving homes. Since we are not state or federally funded, we are supported by donations and by the generosity of our volunteers who dedicate their time to help homeless animals feel safe and loved. Unfortunately several of our resc

ues, through no fault of their own, find themselves dumped, lost, abandoned, or injured. We rehabilitate as many dogs and cats as we can with the help of our volunteers and fosters. SCARNY is made up of a small group of compassionate volunteers who generously offer to help animals in need. Our volunteers assist in fostering, training, feeding, and cleaning at our partnered locations which is not only selfless, but fulfilling! SCARNY recognizes when an animal is in need and lends their hands, homes, and hearts to help. What we receive in return is priceless, knowing that a rescue dog or cat has found their forever home with a family that is perfect for them.

currently faced with a tragic situation involving a poor dog that was raised in a hoarding situation and has multiple medical needs. Sophie has had X-rays, blood work, multiple surgeries, and 2 biopsies. She's had her toe amputated, a mammary tumor removed, and she needed to be spayed.

She's recovering in foster care and we are waiting for the biopsy results. Her medical bills are high and we really would appreciate all who wanted to help her to make a donation towards her medical fund.

She's not out of the woods yet but her prognosis is good. She's still sleeping a lot but less each day as she heals. Please DONATE for this sweet girl who has been through so much from her horrible hoarding situation and being tied to a towel bar prior to her multiple surgeries.

We just saved 5 more puppies and dogs from breeding situations. We also saved 8 cats from a hoarding situation in Nassau County. We are working on more. If you can foster, it would help tremendously.

I might be a little shy at first, but give me some time to warm up, and I’ll be your tiny, purring shadow! I love following my favorite humans around, making sure they never feel lonely. Oh, and headbutts? That’s my specialty! 🤗🐱

They call me Carrot because I’m as orange as a fresh-picked veggie! But, I’m way cuter! 🧡 I’m like a motorboat, my purring battery never runs out, and I’ll happily purr the day away right by your side. If you’re looking for a cuddle buddy, I’m your guy! 😻
