🚨 New in Florida: Statewide Animal Abuse Registry Launches Today! 🐶🐱

Florida has launched its new online animal abuse registry under Dexter’s Law, now live as of January 1, 2026. This searchable database, maintained by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), lists individuals convicted of aggravated animal cruelty so pet adopters, shelters, rescues, and the public can see if someone has a documented history of harming animals. 

This new registry is part of a broader effort to:

✔ Improve animal welfare protections
✔ Help shelters and rescues screen potential adopters
✔ Promote public safety and transparency
✔ Support harsher penalties for serious animal cruelty offenses.
