We offer a friendly, amateur-safe environment for beginners to learn how to care for and ride a horse. If you have always loved horses but never had the opportunity to ride come join us!

Sunday adventures at the barn! We love that our students are just as eager to help in the barn as they are to ride and show.

One of the best moments as an instructor is when the kids feel confident enough to take initiative on behalf of their horses- they jump in to fill waters, sweep, toss hay, or check for lost shoes without even being asked. Watching them grow into taking on horse care tasks independently is so rewarding!

Our show season is off to a great start! Thanks to Northern Ohio Dressage Association for putting on a fantastic schooling show, as always.

Our Junior riders were involved in all aspects of the day today, with Hadleigh and Mia volunteering and Sammy and Marley showing! Horse shows bring out the best kind of community, and it was wonderful to watch the girls support each other and have fun this weekend.

Danielle’s student Marley and her horse Oliver made her dressage debut at Training Level and took home two blues after laying down two beautiful tests. Betsy’s student Sammy is stepping up to Training level this season, and has been working hard to improve in Dressage Seat Equitation as well.

Marley and Sammy even took the top two spots in their division at Training Level Test 1!

We are so proud of all of the girls’ hard work, both in the ring and behind the scenes!

Happy Mother’s Day to all our barn moms!! we couldn’t do it without you!

You juggle all the pieces to make our little riders’ horse dreams a reality! You’re there for early horse show mornings and late lesson nights, and balance busy schedules and allow for the barn time that becomes an all day affair. You find the missing gloves and remember the boots and helmet, and usually a special treat for the ponies too. You dust your riders off and wipe the tears on the tough days, and then give your biggest cheers for their wins both in and out of the saddle. You watch your little riders grow into confident, responsible equestrians as they navigate all of the lessons learned in the barn. From teeny paddock boots and pink helmets up to tall boots and show coats, you’re there every step of the way, and we’re so grateful!

Our Junior riders had a memorable day at the Northern Ohio Dressage Association recognized show!

A few of our young riders joined me to volunteer this afternoon- they helped in the office and even got to assist as ring stewards. They’re better at spotting bridle numbers than I am 😉

Then, with some last minute additions, the Patriotic Pony Posse took on the Stick Horse Spectacle! The girls freestyled their pattern, and had an absolute blast! They completed the event with some beautiful red white and blue ribbons.

We finished the evening watching the Grand Prix and Freestyles. The kids were hooked! They danced their way through the freestyles and are already dreaming of their future horse show endeavors.

A huge thank you to everyone who made the show and the kids’ activities possible!! Thank you, NODA, for finding ways to involve our littlest members! Thank you Sally and Kristi for encouraging the girls to volunteer and participate in the stick horses, and huge thank you to the “Dressage DVM’s” for sharing their special stick horses so our group could include everyone! And of course, thank you to our parents for spending their afternoon at the horse show too!

Dressage truly is for everyone, and it makes me so happy to see our young riders getting involved!

Have you ever taken a moment to listen to your horse’s heartbeat?? We know quiet time with a horse can make a big impact on our mental and physical health, and one way is through something called “coupling heart rate variability”.

Studies show that horses can detect human heartbeats from up to four feet away! There’s evidence that horses can not only sense but also respond to the energetic field from a human’s heart. Calm connection with a horse can even lower our heart rate and reduce other symptoms of stress or anxiety.

A quiet moment in the barn is sometimes just what you need to refresh your mind!
