Welcome to mudpups' professional dog training and behavioral services. HAVE FUN and ENJOY THE MOMENT!

We work with the family to determine their goals, assess the dog and family's strengths and areas of issue, and discuss the advantages and disadvantages of various training techniques and tools in relation to that family's unique situation. The family is an integral part in the training process, as training and behavior modification is a process. If the family is part of the process then the dog w

ill make greater strides towards learning what is expected in the family setting and becoming a happier, healthy family member. Dog's are living breathing beings and therefore can not be programmed like a computer or robot. No matter what type of training or event in which you participate, always remember to let your dog be a Dog!

Drop off for Max Pack will be at the employee entrance. Look for the white privacy fence and signs that say "Employees Only." WE will meet you in the employee parking lot area. PLEASE DO NOT ENTER THROUGH THE EMPLOYEE ENTRANCE.

For new clients who have not yet filled out the required paperwork, I will need your email so I can forward the Red Dog client forms. These forms need to be filled out prior to your pup's Max Pack attendance. These forms, along with a copy of your pup's immunization records, need to be returned no later than when your pup is dropped off for Max Pack.

Congratulations to Jackson's Mom, Sheila. Sheila just published her first children's book, of a six book series, called "Jackson the Brave Little Dog." If there are children in your life that love doggies, go and get copy of "Jackson the Brave Little Dog" for them. What to bring:
Your pup 🐶
A 5' or 6' leash (no retractable leashes)
Whatever collars and/or harnesses you use or want to test out.
Treats and/or motivators to hold your pup's attention.
Water bowls and water for your pup.
Water for yourself. (I will bring a case of water to have available)
Bring a blanket, towel, or Mat that you can put on the ground to be used as your pup's safe place.
The bugs should be ok this evening, but at other times environmentally and pet safe bug spray may be needed.
Wear comfortable shoes.
If there are mobility concerns, a lawn chair may be useful.

Things to know:
Do not approach any other person/dog team without first asking if it is ok. VERY IMPORTANT: WAIT FOR AN ANSWER. I WOULD PREFER THAT NO DOGS MEET AT THIS TIME UNTIL PROPER INTRODUCTION TECHNIQUES ARE DISCUSSED AND PRACTICED.

If your dog is struggling to remain calm, "put them in motion." This means to turn and walk away from the group. When your dog calms down, you can slowly walk back towards the group. We will discuss threshold work and the reason for "putting your dog in motion" during the sessions.

Mark you pup's good behavior with a "Yes" or "Good" even if you did not ask them to do anything.

Be patient with yourself and your pup. The two of you are unlearning old habits and behaviors and will be learning new habits that will lead to new wanted behaviors. It Takes Time.
