Foxtails can pose significant dangers to dogs, particularly when they become lodged in their ears. These grass seed awns can easily pe*****te the skin and travel through soft tissues, leading to various health issues like infections, inflammation, and damage to the eardrum or ear canal. Foxtails can also migrate to other areas of the body and cause further complications. Regularly checking your dog’s ears, especially after walks in grassy or wooded areas, can help prevent these issues.
