Neglected Animals Still, GG had a glimmer of hope.

One sweltering May morning in 2009, an abandoned but beautiful dog—Gorgeous Gal, or GG as she would come to be known by the millions who love her—was found lying under a majestic old oak tree in Detroit, Michigan. She was three-years old; a mixed breed of American bull dog and Staffordshire terrier, also known as a Pit Bull mix. Somehow, she had made it through three of Detroit’s frigid winters an

d sweltering summers, but was growing sick and losing strength. She deserved a chance, it was her right. Although she was taken to a local shelter, that facility was not committed to the “No-Kill” movement and did not save all healthy and treatable animals. GG’s rescue was an emotional journey of hope, fear, and joy, but not every abandoned animal gets a second chance.

Im very depressed. Not one application has come in, how can this be? My sibling got adopted months ago, but Im still here waiting…I promise to be a good boy! I was hoping to find my new family but Im starting to lose hope. Please consider adopting me!

I’m a 4-year-old, Aussie mix, weighing around 60 pounds, and I was rescued from a high-kill shelter. It was a scary time, but now I’m safe, loved, and finally ready to find my forever family. I promise to bring so much love, loyalty, and tail wags into your life. Right now, I’m living in a wonderful foster home with two Standard Poodles, and I get along great with them! I do best with dogs my own size. I don't do well with cats or smaller breeds. And yep, I live up to my name. I’m a quick learner and eager to please. I walk like a pro on a leash, love getting out for strolls, and enjoy being near my people. I’m gentle, friendly, and just want to be your big, fuzzy shadow.

GG's Foundation responded to a call from Carol to help this beautiful boy who was out in the frigid temps. We bought him an insulated McMansion, provided straw and subsidized his vet visit. And he has since been adopted by a friend of Carol. Bless you Carol and John for giving Onyx a safe and loving home. 🐾😻💕
