Equine Spirits Reign Certified Riding Instructor (2003 CHA) -I an an equine professional offering horse training, riding lessons, and provides equine assisted learning.

I have a lifetime of experience with horses and farm animals. In 2003 I became a certified riding instructor with CHA - Certified Horsemanship Assocication. e education in the 4-H clubs in East Texas, utilizing the 4-H curriculum and the CHA materials and of course throwing in the teachings of all the famous horse trainers I have studied throughout my lifetime. My life experience started as a child just owning and riding my own horses. As an adult, I acquired rescues and sale barn rejects that no one could train and rehabilitated them; making them safe for even children to ride. I believe working with horses is a life's calling. I was born with the natural ability to command their respect. I enjoy immensely giving lessons to the beginner. Paying attention to safety and foundational skills is first and foremost. This was several years back. This mare, Gypsy, was the smartest horse with a real pleaser additive! I miss her and my horse life. Getting old and having to let go of so much was hard. But I’m happier and healthier now. I hope one day I can live that life again.

Because of our success at the State 4-H Contest, we were given the incredible opportunity to advance and compete at the National LifeSmarts Championship this April in Orlando, Florida. We are honored to represent Adams County 4-H and Colorado on the national stage and are excited for the chance to showcase the knowledge and skills we have worked so hard to develop.

LifeSmarts is an educational program that provides students with the critical knowledge they will need to be successful after they leave high school. Students study Personal Finance, Consumer Rights and Responsibilities, the Environment, Technology, Workforce Preparation, and Health and Safety. This is an amazing opportunity to compete for scholarships and represent our community on a national stage."

This was a day of accomplishment for this young lady. One day her mother approached me to ask me if she thought that she could learn to ride independently. I said, "I believe she can." Her autism diagnosis had others believing that she was handicapped and couldn't do it. However, she proved them all wrong. She loves horses more than anything. She reminds me of She even dresses like her. This was a Special Olympics Equestrian event that required a leader. However, we all were so very proud of her.
