Huskies have fur which insulates them against the harsh polar elements hence why some huskies love being outside in the snow. Some people can’t get their huskies inside! However haven’t you wondered why huskies put their heads under their tails to sleep? Well this is why.. you can see the heat leaves their face as the fur is thinner here so they need to use their tails as additional insulation.

Very true about Siberians.

There are breeds that are bred to work with us and breeds that are bred to work away from us or independently. They aren’t stubborn, their motivations just different.

The more challenging breeds are the ones who should excite us, an opportunity to think outside the box, to figure out how we can come together on a mutually beneficial behaviour.

We don’t need to up our threats, we need to up our skills.

After all, lions, crocodiles, tigers and hyenas are just some of the many animals we train using reward based methods.

Well it's here - the first "puppy"

Sparrow cared for this "puppy" during her last pregnancy and it looks like she will be doing it for this pregnancy as well -including squeaking it!

Now that I have your attention I need your photo submissions by this Sunday the 12th at THE LATEST to be considered for the calendar.

How much is that doggie in the window?? The first question often asked about the dogs we have is “how much?” Our well bred AKC pups with champion sires and dams are not as much as designer mixed breed doodles that can run from 3K or higher. We are also not as cheep as a back yard breeder that decided to have a litter to make a few dollars or because they thought it would be a good experience for the kids. We put a lot of physical and financial effort behind ensuring our dogs are of good health, temperament, socialized, and meeting the standard of the breed. We also support the dog and the family for life! The article from Forbes attached provides some good insight to consider! Questions always welcome, but how about asking more than just “how much?”

Happy belated 6th birthday to this wonderful litter - Reis, Sparrow, Bumble, Trooper II, Juneau, Murphy & Bodie. What wonderful dogs they have all turned out to be.

Let's all - breeders and pet owners alike! - take action on the horrible New Hampshire bill that targets brachy breeds. Short-legged breeds will likely be next (Corgis, Basset Hounds, etc.), then ALL purebreds.

LET'S WORK TOGETHER TO STOP THIS NOW.
