Torvi went to a UKC Show today and received two Best of Breeds and Novice Puppy Reserve Best in Show from Judge Stan Matsumoto. Great way to start a show career! Torvi is from our Georgie and Mario!

Happy 1st birthday to the Quinn/Gus gang! June and her mom Quinn celebrated with a boat ride and retrieving in the water this weekend. Both of them were awesome on the paddle board! Thanks Roxann Evans for the fun times had by all!

Quinn earned her AKC Fastcat title, she loves to chase!! She averaged 24 miles an hour on her runs.

Torvi and her co- owner Jessica came to the UKC shows to learn to be a show dog and did awesome! Torvi got 4 best of breed puppy wins. She's happy, outgoing, and pretty- all we could ask for in a poodle pup! She is from our recent Georgie X Mario litter.

Kiwi, our Friday x Gideon girl competed in her second show weekend and earned her UKC Championship! She had 2 Best of Breed, 4 Best of winners, and Group 4 placement! Thanks to her co-owner, Samantha for keeping up with her hair and training her to be a good girl without any show experience!

Quinn completed her AKC coursing ability title last weekend. This is a 600 yard winding course where the dogs chase a bag to simulate hunting small game. She LOVES it!

Wednesday completed her AKC Bcat title today! This is a short form lure coursing event. Her top speed was 24.5 miles an hour! These events were also Kaia's first dog shows! Wednesday is now RBIS GRCH. Spirit Wicked Wednesday, BCAT, CGC. She's adding some agility titles with Jon next! And yes, she is yet another corded poodle!

Perdita and Saffron went to get groomed at the Minnesota State Fair with Rio Grooming! I used to teach at that grooming school, they are great! The girls did well, and looked so pretty after!

So many reasons NOT to pediatric spay and neuter our poodles! Here is one more study showing why.

In conclusion, this study shows that the risk of cranial cruciate ligament disease in dogs is linked to how long they are exposed to natural sex hormones, and the relationship isn’t simple or linear. The highest risk was seen when females were spayed before about 1054 days (just under 3 years) and males before about 805 days (a little over 2 years). These results may help define what counts as “early” spay or neuter when it comes to cranial cruciate ligament disease risk.

Veterinary reproduction specialists now recommend hormone-preserving sterilization: preventing unwanted litters & less risk of torn cruciates.
