🐾 It’s no secret that things have become incredibly difficult for Phoenix and Friends. 🐾
The last few posts we’ve made didn’t receive a single interaction. Not one like, comment, or share. 💔
That may not seem like a big deal, but for a small rescue, engagement is everything. When people don’t interact with our posts, Facebook stops showing them to others. That means fewer people see our adoptable cats, fewer people see our fundraising efforts, and fewer people see our pleas for help.
Right now, adoptions have slowed, donations have dropped, and our posts simply aren’t reaching people the way they once did. As a result, our food shelves are running low, our fundraising efforts aren’t bringing in what they used to, and we’re struggling to provide for the cats who depend on us. 😞🐾
The hardest part is that the need never stops. Every day, we receive calls and messages asking for help, but we have reached a point where we cannot responsibly take in any more cats or kittens until the ones currently in our care find homes. 🐱
🚫 We are at capacity.
😔 We are exhausted.
💔 And honestly, I can’t even begin to describe how much stress I feel.
Many of you know that we are waiting for construction to begin on our new cat room 🏠🐾, which will allow us to help more cats and improve the care we can provide. Unfortunately, we are at the mercy of contractor schedules and the weather 🌧️. We are doing everything we can, but right now all we can do is wait patiently and hope things start moving soon.
Until then, we are stuck in a difficult position. We cannot take in more cats until space opens up, and space cannot open up until our current cats and kittens find homes. 🏡❤️
