Dinah and Xena knock the cones over, and Rosemary & Weeko set them back up. These yeehaw sisters use "shoulder control cues" to do this with their equine partners. Shoulder control is a very important cue to teach your horse. Good to use while on the trail or just having some fun.

Sally & Temper, Pat & Ginger and Barb & Lacy are warming up before the clinic starts. Before the horse and rider begin any training session, they have to have the attention of their horse.

Jerry is introducing the soccer ball to Bits during the clinic. With my training method I teach my clients to work with their horse to handle energy in all forms. I want the horse and rider to be safe on the trail whether it be a tree branch falling or deer running through the woods.

This week-end was my 2014 Spring Clinic. The weather was not good for my clinic. Peg & Jim Williams was kind enough to let us use their facility to hold my clinic there. THANK you so much for your generosity. I also want to thank each of my clients and their equine partner for coming to the Spring clinic. I am proud of each and everyone of you for how far you have come with your equine partner and your hard work.

My client Rosemary and her equine partner Weeko went to show and tell for her grand-daughter Madelynn. Rosemary has been teaching Weeko my training method for almost 3 years. Weeko enjoyed about 30 kindergarten children loving and brushing her while in the stand cue. The teacher commented on how well behaved and calm this little mare was during the visit. good job Rosemary and Weeko.

This past Saturday was my 15th annual kick-off meeting with my clients. We met at Ride-A-Lot Equine Center and drove to Creekside Lodge in Crawfordsville Indiana for a wonderful lunch and great time together. We discussed the 3 clinics I am holding this year as well as a "Fun Day" that will be held at Rock Branch Farm Horse Trails. The "Fun Day" will be a time for my clients to let their horse "SHINE" as well as a Soccer Game in saddle, a talent show and an obstacle course. My kick-off meetings are to motivate my clients to get out there and spend time with their equine partner and to accomplish goals they have set for themselves.

The youngest of my clients, Kayla Heidrick & her partner Jazz from Danville Illinois, was honored for placing in 18 out of 23 events in 2013 at the Vermillion County Rough Riders Artesian Center. This was the first time Kayla and Jazz had entered in any competition. We are ALL very proud of them. Good Job!!!!!!!!!

My clients are anxious to get in the saddle and start another great year with their equine partners. When the weather breaks they will all be out there working hard and enjoying their horses.

A BIG thanks to all of my clients. I know whatever goals you have set for this year, you will meet each one. I look forward to working with you. ~~~~~Tina

Ride-A-Lot Equine Center 14th Annual Christmas dinner.

12/05/2013

I would like to take this time to say "Thank you"to my Ride-A-Lot Equine clients for their support in the celebration of our 14th annual Christmas dinner. December 3rd was an evening to remember.

It was a time for my clients to come together and talk about accomplishments they have made with their equine partner in 2013 and the goals they have for 2014.

Lariann Ferguson and her partner "Maggie" were recognized for her accomplishment at Midwest Trail this fall for coming in 1st place in the ITRA obstacle challenge. She and Maggie came in with the fastest time as well as a perfect score out of 12 riders.

Max Newlin and his partner "Chaulk" went to Cowboy Church where the kids were able to give Chaulk lots of attention. He stood still for the kids to love on, tug on and climb on and loved every minute of it.

John Sharp and his partner "Dusty" started training this fall for next years Cowboy Mounted Shooting. This has been of dream of John's for a long time and he was able to shoot his gun while in the saddle during a training session.

This is just a few of my clients accomplishments this past year.
Congratulations!!!!!!!

After a wonderful dinner at Boulder Creek in Brownsburg, we were entertained by the Ride-A-Lot Yeehaw Singers.........
They played bells and tamborine as they sang a medley of several Christmas songs, with words changed with my clients names and their horses. What an imagination they have. Lots of laughing.
Thanks to, MC Dinah Miller, singers John Sharp, Rosemary Sharp, Jerry Brown, Wanda Spears and Susie Konechnik.

Again, my heartfelt thanks to those who made my 14th annual year a success;
Jeff and Jackie Riggen, John and Rosemary Sharp, Betty Minard, Rich and Lariann Ferguson, Susie Konechnik, Max Newlin, Lexa Campbell, Larry and Pat Smith, Rick and Dinah Miller, Barb and Roger Rutter, Peg Williams, Jerry Brown and Wanda Spears.

Mary Margaret has worked hard to gain her confidence in her riding abilities. She and Rosie have become great partners and have now learned the cues to trot. Mary Margaret's horsemanship skills are becoming better with each ride she and Rosie take. It isn't uncommon for these two to ride their trails in Spencer twice a day.
