I made this collage today to show off our longest residents - and tonight - I'm sharing it in desperation.
We have NO open cages. Even the small cages are full - and we don't have many small dogs - so medium dogs are in cages to save their lives.
Full shelter, dogs in small cages - this leads to deterioration of their spirits and behavior.
We need ADOPTIONS - rescues need FOSTERS and DONATIONS - we need owners to PICK UP THEIR DOGS.
LCDK is open 10-6 on Tuesday and we have to get some dogs out ASAP.
LCDK has not put down for space in over 10 years. County Commissioners committed to not putting down for space a couple years ago - which - okay - that's great - but what are they supposed to do if you find a dog and cannot hold on to it to find an owner?
Shelters all over the state and country have been facing this issue - and it's just getting worse by the day.
‼️‼️PLEASE - come out and meet some dogs.
‼️‼️PLEASE - apply to foster for any of our local rescues.
‼️‼️PLEASE - if your dog is here - come and get it! If you need help with fees - reach out to us via messenger
‼️‼️PLEASE - if you have a dog - DO NOT LET IT OUT UNATTENDED - and get a license on it - it's the law and it'll get them home faster with no fees.

‼️‼️PLEASE COME OUT and help these dogs. They do not deserve this.

Cost to play is $10 per square. Prize payouts are:

Teams are not yet finalized - so we have AFC/NFC on our board - but will update as soon as we know!

Meet our longest residents—just a bunch of goodest boys 🥹 These are who need a home of their own the most. Please consider meeting them OUTSIDE of their kennels—they’ve been waiting so long.

Arlo - antenna ear of wonder stands at attention against his beautiful Carmel brown fur. Time has made him hyper and stressed in his kennel but the sweet boy who loves to give kisses is still there. He’s a young boy who needs someone to work with him, take the time to train him, and just show him the love he so desperately wants.

Marcellus- laid back dog with the cutest nose! He is content just hanging out with you or playing with a toy on his own. It is obvious he hasn’t had the best life, likely being caged a lot. Despite everything he’s been through, he is such a sweet dog. Marcellus has even done well meeting other dogs here. He would love a home where he can get some much needed tlc.

Elmo - barky and loud in his cage he is so overlooked. Get him out and this big boy just wants to sit in your lap. He came in with another large dog, has been fine next to others outside, but he is getting stressed. He is a giant baby who just wants someone to cuddle with him and get him away from the loud kennel. Bring your pups to meet him or spoil him as your one and only - he probably wouldn’t mind either way as long as he goes HOME!

Lucas- the cutest forehead wrinkles and soulful eyes. When he first arrived, he was a little unsure and timid. However, it didn’t take long for him to open up and show his personality. You will often find this goofy boy drooling at the sight of treats. Lucas has been here too long and you can see a sadness in his eyes. Don’t let his size deter you, this big boy is full of love to give!

Tedd - if “very good boy” is what you are looking for then you are looking for Tedd! Who can resist that head tilt and that wonky back right leg - that sticks out funny when he sits (has to be an old injury)?! He listens to commands, has done well on meet & greets so far, is super chill, and loves to give smooches. Come meet Tedd and fall in love!
