Our May dog of the month! Meet Bean!

She is a sweet little rescue getting a second chance and started out “afraid of everything” especially men. To encourage her to push past her fears and evolve to trust, we paired her with Zion who couldn’t be a more gentle kind male for her to experience.
He has been working with her and she has become way less fearful and more confident about her grooming process. We love to see a positive change in all our customers and appreciate being given that opportunity and trust by their people 💜 Good job Bean!

Since early 2026 we have had a student from North Port High School coming to volunteer every Monday to gain some real world experience in the animal work force. Monday morning, we returned the favor by volunteering our salon and staff to hold a seminar for her and her fellow students in the Enterprise Program about dog behavior!

We spoke about green, yellow, and red light behavior and how dogs communicate through body language (tails, ears, and especially eyes!).
Special needs dogs, Dog breeds and their different personalities/jobs and habits. We showed how to approach a dog appropriately, and to be able to read their responses to us.
We also spoke about what to do when confronted with unwanted behavior, lost or unaccompanied dogs, and injured dogs.

Overall we had a great time sharing our knowledge, experiences, and answering lots of great questions! We hope these young adults go out into the community and share what they learned with their friends and family and help spread the knowledge they gained here anywhere they interact with dogs. Safety and understanding is everything to our local residents and especially to our furry companions!

Happy international small business week!
As you know, YOU make our dreams come true! We don’t have a big boss pulling strings behind the scenes. Who you see in the building is your local community of dog lovers and team players that are working hard to care for your dogs as if they were our own 💜

It’s almost summer! You know what that means? We have extra space on our calendars again!
Our seasonal customers are headed north and we need some new adorable faces to put on our tables!

We have decided to offer a small discount to both the referrers and the new customers who are working together to grow and maintain our business!
Feel free to stop in and grab a couple business cards, post cards, or just share our Facebook anywhere you like! To receive the discount the new customer needs to mention our existing customer by name so both can receive their credit.

Dog of the month! I’m selfishly introducing my new puppy because she’ll only be this small for a minute and it’ll be gone in a blink!
She’s been coming to work with me every day so most of you have seen her and everyone has questioned what and who she is!

So please formally welcome our new baby girl Quasar! She comes to the names Zara and Zari. She is a blue and white border collie that will grow up to be just like Nova and do agility!
