😢 UPDATE: It is with a heavy heart that we must share that little Charlie has Myelomalacia. Myelomalacia is the softening and necrosis (tissue death) of the spinal cord, usually resulting from severe chronic compression, trauma (which is why IVDD intervention is critical) or vascular injury. It causes irreversible damage leading to motor impairment, pain, and loss of reflexes. Unfortunately, she did not receive the care she needed from her owners in time to stop or delay the damage.
Rescue is hard. The rewards are endless but sometimes it hurts.
🐶 Charlie is in the process of being transported to SCAN of Clearwater for IVDD surgery 🏥Her owners surrendered her to a local vet for euthanasia at only 3 years old because she went down in the back 😢 Today, her life is being saved because of caring volunteers and donors 🗓️ In January, Low Rider brought in 31 dogs in 31 days, MANY needing special treatment or emergency intervention ALL require veterinary care 🙏 We NEED your help - EVERY AMOUNT makes a difference!
