PLEASE READ! Save This Life, a microchip company, shut down unexpectedly and without any recourse for their database. So if your pet is scanned, your info won’t come up.
Please, if you have a Save This Life chip, re-register your pet with one of the companies listed below. We have scanners at the clinic if you don’t know what your chip number is. WE HAVE NEVER USED THIS BRAND OF CHIP BEFORE, so if your pet was microchipped at our clinic, it was NOT this brand (despite what the picture says).

We have had some inquiries. Stay safe, everyone!

So far this year, more than 300 dead wild birds have been discovered in five Michigan counties. Based on preliminary test results, the Michigan DNR suspects highly pathogenic avian influenza (bird flu). Ongoing disease surveillance indicates that HPAI is widespread in wild bird populations throughout the state.

Leave dead wild birds alone: Carcasses should be left to naturally decompose if they are difficult to reach, and people and domestic animals will not have contact with them. A fresh carcass can spread disease, but as the animal decomposes, the virus will die.

If you must clean up, do not use your bare hands: If dead wild birds are easily accessible and pose a risk, use personal protective equipment (gloves, eye protection, mask, etc.) to double bag the carcasses and dispose of them through normal trash pickup.

If you observe a die-off of six or more wild birds, report it at Michigan.gov/EyesInTheField

NOTICE OF CLOSURE NEXT WEEK
In preparation for the dangerously plunging temperatures next week, we will be closed on Monday and Tuesday. We are open tomorrow and will be available if meds or food needs to be refilled. ďżźWhile we hate to shut our doors, we want our staff, clients and patients to be safe and sheltered in the cold. PLEASE bring all animals inside and keep livestock sheltered and out of the wind. Check water bowls and buckets for freezing. Dogs should only go out as needed to eliminate and brought back in immediately. Coats are preferred, paw protection is a must!! At those temperatures, the slight moisture on paw pads can freeze instantly to the ice, resulting in pads peeling off, leaving a raw foot. This is very painful and take a long time to heal! Paw wax or other moist coating and/ or boots can help prevent this. Everyone please stay safe and warm and stay inside unless absolutely necessary.
Think warm thoughts….!❤️‍🔥🐾

The cold temps are getting dangerous. Please bring your pets inside when the temp drops. Also be aware that moist or sweaty paw pads can freeze to the ice and peel off unless they are protected. You can use musher boots or paw wax to protect them. Here is a recipe for DIY paw wax. Stay warm and safe out there!

If you live somewhere with snow, a DIY dog paw balm recipe can come in handy. Here's how to protect your dog's paws at home during the winter.
