Animals will be held for five days to allow an owner time to reclaim them. Wild cats; vicious dogs imposing a safety threat to shelter workers or visitors; badly injured, sick, or suffering animals requiring extensive treatment; and animals with highly contagious or fatal diseases are exempt from the five day impoundment, however. After the hold period, pending medical and behavioral assessment, animals may be available for adoption. All adoptions are on a first come - first serve basis. Arlo’s assignment included climbing in boxes, crawling through boxes, sticking his entire body through a box, and conducting a very thorough quality-control review of every cardboard surface available.

While it may look silly (and honestly, it is πŸ˜†), enrichment activities like this are a great way to keep shelter dogs mentally engaged, build confidence, encourage problem-solving, and provide a fun outlet for natural curiosity.

Join us and our friends at Crooked Hammock Brewery on Wednesday, June 10 from 6–9 PM for their monthly Jeep Meetup!

PURPOSE will be performing live, with tips collected during their performance will be donated directly to support the animals in our care!

Be sure to grab a Jeep Fuel Cocktail while you’re there. Crooked Hammock will donate 10% of all Jeep Fuel Cocktail sales from the evening to HSNMB.
