Since I was a kid, like many of my friends that I surround myself in this hobby,I’ve had an obsession with reptiles. That obsession being fueled by people like Steve Irwin, Jeff Corwin, Jack Hanna, the Kratt Brothers, and of course Brian Barczyk. The want to be a wildlife educator continued well through my pr***en years as my brother and I pretended to educate an audience in our bedroom, using plastic insects, reptiles and other animals using our bunk bed as a traveling van putting on shows everywhere using our imaginations. Well this “phase” I’m sure our parents thought we were in ended for my brother, it didn’t stop for me. I knew I still wanted to do something with reptiles; little did I know it would really kick off after I got my first ball python. Before RVR, before I knew what a morph was I knew I wanted to educate. The aspirations I had were very large but it kept the dream alive. At the time 18-19 year old me wanted to be the next Steve Irwin, wanted to work at the conservation station at Disney World at Animal Kingdom, I wanted to be that guy that made kids and adults alike smile all the while removing fears and stigmas that were most likely taught from a young age. So, fast forward a couple years and I did my first wildlife show at my sisters daycare and saw the joy those littles had…and that’s what I wanted. While back then I didn’t have a name for myself nor did I know how to promote myself, I did parties very sporadically. The influence of YouTube was very intimidating so I steered away from that direction but at that point had became a ball python breeder and had a nice collection of different reptiles. Let’s fast forward a few more years after I left college and we rebranded to Russ Vegas Reptiles while I sat at a bar in Russellville, Arkansas. My educational events were at a standstill after I moved to a new city with a new business name, it took a while until I re established myself. Let’s fast forward another few years. I moved to Little Rock, started tik tok, got a little more comfortable in front of the camera, had the extraordinary experience of being on Brian’s vlog, I filmed one party and boom ZOO TO YOU! Now I’m doing what I love!
